- The first year of the course provides a foundational grounding in engineering as well as introducing aspects of vehicle design. From the second year, the focus is more fully on automotive engineering.
- Modules that are unique to this course include ‘Performance Modelling for Road & Racing Cars’, ‘Energy Sources and Storage’ and ‘Automotive Design and Analysis’.
- This BEng (Hons) course will meet part of the academic requirement to be a Chartered Engineer, which is associated with higher salaries.
- Students can meet the requirement in full by studying for an additional year and gaining a MEng (Hons). If students know from the start that they’d prefer a MEng, please apply for MEng (Hons) Automotive Engineering instead of this course

Academic Eligibility:
- Students need a high school degree or equivalent from a recognized institution. or
- Students can provide A-level, BTEC Diplomas/Extended Diplomas, Scottish and Irish Highers, Access to HE Diplomas, or the International Baccalaureate.
Indian Student Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
- Students need a Standard XII/Class XII from CBSE, CISC with 65% and above.
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test.
