Putu Sita Review at University Of Leeds, Leeds | Collegedunia

My experience as a Master’s students at the University of Leeds

PS
6.0 /10

It was really good. Just wanted to point out that they should give more improvements for their administrative systems on International students, especially with the amount of students abroad that is coming to Leeds to study here.

Course Curriculum :

It was very good and up to date. Some of the content and materials provided is very UK-based, but there’s always an open discussion on how it could be applied in our own context, especially with classes that has majority of International students.

Exams :

My scores for admissions in 2021: IELTS 7.5 TOEFL 92/120 Other than that, I didn’t submit anything. I submitted my SOP and CV, and the content is mostly related to the experience and work I have been doing, and my aspirations on why I wanted to study in TESOL & ICT at Leeds. Other than that, I answered several essay questions provided by the university through my SOP.

Placement :

My programme does not include any post-study placement, so I have nothing to say on this one. As a masters student’s most of us are looking for job either in the UK or in our home country.

Internship :

I didn’t go for any internships, but directly going for a permanent job vacancy to fulfill. I got recruited in the University at their digital education dept as an assistant learning technologist that is basically consulting and advising academics on the usage of digital tools. This job is permanent role, sponsored and my salary is above £25000/year considering my background and year of experiences.

Fees :

£20,250 per year (1 year study for Masters) Apx £8000 per year for the hall of residences Apx £1000/month for living costs

Faculty :

My Faculty is on Social Science and my school is on Education. I don’t particularly have any shoutout to staffs, but I am forever grateful with my supervisor Dr Richard Badger for his insights in my dissertation and Dr. Katherine Stapleford on her research in digital education.

Campus Life :

The extracurricular activities are varied. I joined the choir with a lot of mixture between undergraduate and master even ph.d students. I joined several clubs aligned with my hobbies like video gaming. I also joined several trip organized by the student unions to go around the country with people from the institution.

Hostel :

I lived in the hall of residences which has the shared accommodation access to the gym, game room, and study hall. The flat was mostly shared for 6-9 people, and it has kitchen, washing machine and dryer, and 2 sets of fridge for 6 people. Everyone’s room has the same size, very decent sized room with good insulation and heating. It’s also very safe because there’s a warden that will guard the property 24/7.
