Remarks :
You can enjoy complete freedom here. No one is there for restriction. There's warden for each hostels, I saw our warden only once. Positive thing is the library. You should exploit the library. Many books are provided in the library. The faculties they're providing all are not best. There are many who don't know anything as in every colleges.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Since this is a university, our faculties are preparing the question paper for internals as well as externals. They are also checking our papers. So I think it's easy to score marks here. But the syllabus is good so that you can study on your own.
Placement Experience :
I have not much idea about it. Many of my seniors told me that Computer Science Department of Pondicherry University is worst. Yes actually it's not that good comparing to other departments. But it's ok for me. Since we have a large collection of books in our library. Even it got many awards from Oxford itself. So if you're coming to study, you can do it your own.
College Events :
Festivals of many cultures are being celebrated. In accordance with these festivals, there'll be many programmes and sports tournaments. Hostel day celebration is the big event happening there. Ugadi Festival, Onam, Saraswathi Pooja, SJ Fest and many more. There'll be many programmes and events happening with these festivals.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Since this is a Central University, the fee is feasible. But I think comparing to other central universities, Pondicherry University has a bit expensive fee structure. Since there was a fee hike last year. But there are struggles and strikes happening to reverse it.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
There's a scholarship for the first three ranks in semester exam in each department. They'll avail 10000,7500,5000 respectively. Then they're also providing some amount for fourth fifth and sixth ranks if they have annual income less than 2 lakhs.
Campus Life :
We have a good computer lab. There are many extra curricular activities happening here. Festivals of many cultures are being celebrated. In accordance with these festivals, there'll be many programmes and sports tournaments.
Hostel Facilities :
They are providing many hostels for men and ladies. This is an older university, so the hostels here are not all good and new. But it's ok. New hostels are there which is clean. But also there are some hostels for girls which are a way too bad.
Alumni/Alumna :
They are very helpful and they give us proper guiding. They'll be there for us for any help needed. If you are having fever, they'll even care you. So they're helpful in many ways. You can know it when you come here for your admissions. They help students and their parents who are coming for their admissions.
Admission :
I wrote the entrance exam. I was in the waiting list. Since the students in the selected list didn't take admission at this university, they called for waiting list. And I got admission to this course on Computer Science since there was seats left for this subject
Faculty :
For our Department, that is, Computer Science Department, for 3 years (UG), guest faculties and PhD scholars are teaching us. For the last 2 years (PG), they provide proper faculties. For other departments, it's not like this.
