Best college for being a dietitician

Remarks :

The positive remark is the teaching quality is best of all the teachers the opportunity of extracurricular activities is also provided very well. And the negative remark is some of the teachers are very biased towards some students specially I feel the partiality of some teacher. Not all the teacher are biased only one or two teacher are biased.

Course Curriculum Overview :

In this college the curriculum activity like basket ball, batminton, dance are done and various confrence which is done in hospitals students go and attend the conference also participate in the quiz competition which done during the conference. I remember, my classmates and me attend the Apollo hospital confrence. The topic of talk is about various type of diet like ketogenic, diet vegan diet, one of the speaker talks about different type of oil which is used in india.

Internships Opportunities :

Yes, in my cource post graduation diploma in dietetics and public health nutrition there is a compulsory internship for three months in hospitals as a assistance dieticion with the doctors. I have not join the hospital yet so do not have experience. I will join in June. Stipend is not provided to student. The internship is paid which means student have to give the money in hospitals for doing the internship.

Placement Experience :

The placement in this cource is good. Job opportunity is also very good. We can work in hospitals as a dietician or public health nutritionist to educate the low socio economic people. Job opportunity. As from the senior students I get information that placement is done in the VLCC company as dietician and the salary is approx 20,000.

College Events :

Nutrition week, anemia camp, diabetic mela, mid day meal program, cultural fest this year Ayushman khurana was come for the guest which is best fest in DU , DWANI which is the drama and acting society, the canteen project is also done in the subject food service management in which we learn how to be good interprenoure. Different type of public health program also organise by teachers.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Yes I think fee structure is too high for the one year diploma cource but after doing practical I feel that the fee structure is good because in the practical we have to cooking so the cooking ingredients is expensive so that it has mananged with fee.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Only two type of scholarship is provided in my cource one for the low socio economic group student which is SC or ST cast student and one for the SIKH student. The amount of scholarship is for SC or ST student is approx 1000 or 2000 And for the SIKH student the amount is approx 5000

Campus Life :

Extracurricular activities like dance, badminton, basketball, are done in the college as well as various type of competition also done and price and certificate also provided to the student. Completion done like cooking competitions, rangoli competition etc.

Hostel Facilities :

Well I am not in the hostel so I do not have too much information about the hostel but one of my friend in the hostel so according to her she faces lots of problem in initial day like worm theater and food related because she's is from Shillong but with the help of other hosteler and haste faculty she manage the things very nicely.

Alumni/Alumna :

The connection is not too much with the alumni because of one year of cource so not too muchh of interaction but those students who do msc after this interaction is done with them they are very helpful they give the information about hospital which hospital is best for internship.

Exam Structure :

Exam structure is based on semester wise. Practicals exams are also done before the final exam. In the 1st semester I gave the exam of subject. Therapeutic nutrition 1, flood service management, physiology and public health nutrition and in the 2nd semester I will give the exam of subject. Therapeutic nutrition 2, food service management and food microbiology, biochemistry and PFNS.

Admission :

I search about this cource and intract with the teacher as well. The form is available off line which i get from the administration office. The form is free of cost. The fotocopy of required documents like 10th marksheet, 12th marksheet, graduation certificate with provisional certificate was attached with the application form and submitted to the administration office. After 10 to 15 day the merit list will posted on the college website of lady Irwin college. The merit list was posted on three round 1 the higher marks and other as well. After that original certificate with the 6 fotograph submitted in the office and fee will deposit in the account office. The classes will start after completing the admission process after 10 to 15 day classes will start.

Faculty :

Teaching is the best in this college but the behavior of some teacher are very rude towards some student. Some of the teacher scold the the student on very small mistakes very badly. Sometime they not listen to the student situation. Not all the teachers but 1 or 2 teacher are like that but some of them are very polite and very sweet of nature they always encourage the students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

• Being a homescience student, i always wanted to explore this course to learn something new. • There are 35-45 students in class and there's only one section for which different teachers are there for different subjects. But in one class there is only one teacher present. • Faculty members are mostly M.sc. and PhD. They are very knowledgeable. They share their live experiences of the classes with us. • Term exams occurs twice as there are two semesters. Once in nov-dec and secondly in may-june. Exams were a bit moderately difficult, very practical questions are being asked.
