Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is very well built, providing you insights into all the subjects that you should know according to your course or field opted. The semester system has 2 tests per semester, one internal and one external. Some marks are in the faculty's hand which they assign you on the basis of your attendance, assignments, behavior, participation and also how you performed in your unit tests or internals. Therefore your overall personality and skills are being assessed which makes you a better and more presentable human being. The college provides various courses to choose from. If going for B.com you can choose an additional subject to enhance the value of your degree and add "Hons", Economics and Business finance are the subjects offered.
Placement Experience :
Every year placement drive takes place around February whereby many big market players like Amazon, Flipkart, Mahindra, icici, Kotak, etc. come and conduct the campus drive.
College Events :
The college celebrates all the cultural events especially of the Punjab region to conserve the "virsa" of Punjab. The college hosted the Panjab university's yearly fest "youth fest" the previous year. Also, it's clubs organized 2-3 fests in a year. Various competitions are organized according to the theme of the fest and the major or minor regional festivals are celebrated on a good note.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The first Year fee remains under 25,000 INR and the annual examination charges for BCom Hons remained under 7000 INR. The fee structure depends upon the guidelines provided by Panjab university. The value for a normal undergraduate course remains under 1 lakh for three years. The hostel can cost you between 70,000 - 90,000 INR.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The college runs many scholarships for sports person, caste minority, religious minority and also gives cash awards for achievers in the field of sports or academics.
Campus Life :
The college is all-girls college and you'll find girls from all around India and the world. The college offers many add on courses, the library has amazing ambiance, competitions for debate and declamation, quizzes, singing, cricket,kho-kho, badminton, dancing, presenting papers, etc are held time to time.
Alumni/Alumna :
The senior girls are really helpful and you'll never be bullied. They are more of your mentors and coaches than just your seniors.
Admission :
First of all the college is affiliated to Panjab University, Chandigarh therefore, the admission procedure totally depends on the guidelines provided by the university for that particular year. Two types of the admission process are followed 1." Centralized" in which you will have to fill the university's form and then admission will be done on merit basis and the university will allot you a seat in any of its affiliated colleges. 2."Non-centralized" admissions where you can directly approach the college, buy their prospectus, fill their form and grab the seat. In case of centralized admissions, there's always a chance that some seats remain unfilled, which the college gives to the students who directly approach them afterward but "only if seats remain". Faculty :
The faculty does not have an ignorant attitude at all. They genuinely make efforts, teach you in the best manner that they can, are very polite and helpful at all times. You can share whatever you want or seek advice. The teachers are handpicked and employed, best in their fields.
