Remarks :

Good management staff. Very helpful in terms of curriculum and academic help needed by students.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Pillai's college is a Mumbai University A grade certified college. The curriculum and syllabus are based on relevant and real life-based scenarios. Theory and practical exams are conducted. This helps the students to gain practical knowledge of the concepts that are taught in the classrooms.

Placement Experience :

There is a placement team of the college who takes care of the placement of students in each stream. Companies like Infosys, TCS, and many more top MNCs come every year for the selection of students.

College Events :

Pillai's college is well known for its infrastructure and academic activities. The college conducts its own fest called Alegria which is celebrated every year. It conducts various competition that includes elocution, cultural, technical, and traditional competitions. Apart from Alegria, intercollege tech festivals were celebrated.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

I took admission in 2011. The fee structure was as follows - Academic fee - INR 97000 (approx) Miscellaneous fees - INR 3000 ( approx) Books and other expenses - INR 4500 (approx) Travel expense for the commute (daily basis) - INR 50 The expense can vary now.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Not opted for a loan myself. There was a scholarship available for students based on merit. The management circulated the availability to the students.

Campus Life :

The infrastructure of the college is nice. All the labs are well equipped. Various sports and competitions are conducted on a regular basis. Intersport's competitions are conducted on a regular basis. Campus life is superb with various facilities available for the students within the campus.

Alumni/Alumna :

Many senior alumni conducted workshops within the campus on the selection of projects for the students.

Admission :

The admission is based on merit basis. CAP rounds are conducted for the admission process. Based on the merit of the students, students get admission in the college. The admission process starts by July or Aug and the there are 3 rounds of cap process.

Faculty :

Each faculty and teaching staff is well qualified. Practicals are conducted which helps the students to implement the concept in real life and make them understand. In case of any doubt or concern raised by the student, facilities are always available to help them.

Placement Experience:

Students from the 7th semester onwards are eligible for campus placements. Core Biomedical companies like GE, Medtronics, biosense etc and IT companies like TCS, JIO, INFOSYS, CAPGEMINI etc Recruit Biomedical Engineers. Most Biomedical Students prefer Masters over placements. 80 percent of students from selected candidates get placed. I will go for Placements and I will get into post graduation after clearing GATE 2023.

Remarks:

Location is most likely a factor for me. It is closed to my home. And the another factor is that, Different colleges offer different programs with their curriculum. For example, as an Engineering student, I had a set of classes that I was required to take, with little deviation apart from electives.

Placement Experience:

I haven't experienced placements yet. but yes the deserving students get internship every year. The whole staff of this college is very nice.

I would say that there are many other good colleges in pune for mechanical engineering , as the cut off of this colldge is low so students not willing to compromise on the branch can take admission here without any second thought .
