- Library facility is good but very strict and does not include many course books.
Course Curriculum Overview :
My subject, Artificial Intelligence, is the latest subject in the field of Computer Science and hence, is the most relevant to our times. The syllabus we follow is fantastic and it allows us to practically understand the algorithms of machine learning and deep learning.
Internships Opportunities :
There aren't many internship opportunities provided by the college except during the final placement cycle and even then they are very limited. Apart from this, students are allowed to go for other internships and the college supports students for internship opportunities. I did not face issues from the college during my 2nd year summer internship. The general stipend provided is between 5000 to 25000 per month based on the company and the work.
Placement Experience :
Yes we get placement opportunities in campus through our very own application known as Superset where different job openings are listed and students are free to choose and apply for their placement cycles. Apart from this, college also provides assistance for further studies, as is the case with me.
Fees and Financial Aid :
The yearly payment for my batch is Rs. 2,05,000. It has been increased for junior batches. The college provides Liquiloan Facility for fee payment too, in which, instead of a one time payment, monthly payments can be made to the loan facilitator. Apart from this, a 20,000 rupee admission fee was charged as one time fee and they charge 1500 as exam fee per semester. The overall fee is lower for other specialisations but more for us as we have a funded department in collaboration with Miles Education.
Campus Life :
The infrastructure provided isn't the best or even very competitive but the overall environment was quite conducive for clubs and other extra curricular activities as is proved by the yearly fests organised by the student council, Samashti. Along with that, every department has their own forums for students.
Admission :
The process of admission included one entrance test followed by personal interview. It was a simple process, same goes for Christ University. I applied in both Christ and Jain. I got in both but chose JAIN over Christ as i found jain better in terms of faculties and facilities. Also, jain offers specialisations whereas Christ does not.
Faculty :
The faculty to student ratio is about 50. The faculties are very friendly and always approachable. The best faculties are Naren sir, Shyam sir, Prerna ma'am, Neetha ma'am and Prabhakaran sir. We have internals, one preparatory and final sem for every semester. They are quite difficult and completely based on the course curriculum.
Interview Experience :
Yes, we had entrance test, GD and PI. The topic given to us for GD was the Indian Economy and apart from that, the personal interview was quite fine with the standard questions. The entrance test included subjects like current affairs, GK, mathematical and logical aptitude, and english grammar along with a section on Computer Science.
Night Life :
There is no night life here as the campus is closed and the hostel is far away from it. We do not have much except for few eateries open till 12am and a mall close by. Other than that, within the university, we have canteens and a library along with 3 conference halls for socialising and other activities. The broader activities take place in the 3rd floor quadrangle which is an open space provided for all student activities.
Other Applied Colleges
DEVANSH AGARWAL | BCA, Christ University
Did not agree with their strict rules and regulations. Also they don't offer specialisations.
