- The availability of faculty members at any point of the college hours. The faculty members are ready to give their full help and support to the students at any day and time.
- Availability of a large quantity of different books whether it be course- related or not. The library contains a large variety of books which are available to be accessed by any student.
Dislikes
- The unavailability of labs and library after college hours. The computer labs can only be in access during the college hours. Same goes with the library.
- No constant programming classes for any batch. The work is held for a very few days (mostly 10-15) per semester which isn't enough to be able to learn any language. 100% attendance is mandatory during workshop or a fine of 1000/day is be given.
Course Curriculum Overview :
As an IT students, I think the course offers a fair curriculum with a mix of foundational skills, technicl skills, differnt condepts etc. It is a fairly relevent course. This course does a fairly good job of preparing students for real wrold problems. For the areas of improvement I think the course isn't always consistent and is a large course to be covered within a small span of time. The course also needs to focus on soft skills as well. Soft skills are as important as hard skills these days. There should also be more hands on experience with industrial vists which doesnt happen in the college at all. As for the exams, I think the exams are taken at a very small duration which doesnt give the students any time for preparation and makes it very hectic for the students to study.
Placement Experience :
The on-campus placement for the college is ok. It isn't very good neither is it bad. I would say its average. The 4th yar students as eligible for on campous placements. The third year students can do internships from different places if they want to. The companies that visits the college for recruitment are TCS, Accenture, Infosys, Amazon, Capgemini, CGI, Mindtree, Cognizant and HCL.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The total first year fee is for B Tech is 174600. From the next year onwards the fee is 150750. The overall fess is divided into tution fee, examination fee, career planning fee, etc. The tution fee for first year is 118400 with external examination fee of 7500, internal examination fee of 4000, department society and research fee of 7600, career planning fee of 7850 and institute industry interface fee of 5400. For semester-1 the fee is 59000 and for semester-2 the fee is 59400. The similar goes for further years as well. The college provides a fee waiver seat for some students whose marks are up to a certain mark. These student with fee waiver seat have to give 30000 for the whole year.
Campus Life :
The campus life in the college is a mix. Not many events are held in the college. There are annual tech fest, annual soprts meet, a diwali fest, some small getherings etc. that are held every year. The college doesn't host any freshers party for the freshers or any farewell party by the juniors. The library contains a large variety of books. These books can be course related or not. The college does have many clubs for different purposes. There are cultural clubs as well as technical clubs. There are theatre, music, art clubs, diferent types of dance clubs ( classical as well as western ), debate club, robotics clubs, hacking clubs, clubs for poets, etc. These are all student run clubs.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel faculty is good. They listen to the problems of the students and try their best to solve those problems. The girls hostel room are 3 seater room with three beds, tables, three different cupboards, etc. There are 4 types of rooms for girls simple rooms, air-cooled rooms, non duct attached wahroom and toilet rooms and finally air cooled attached washroom and bathroom rooms. The meal of the college is pretty decent with some days when it tastes horrible but other than tt its pretty good compared to other hostels. The registration process of the hostel is simple. You just need to fill a form and pay the fee according the room you selected. The hostel is quite affordable as compared to other hostels around the area.
Admission :
I did apply for many other colleges in the counselling process like galgotias, etc. The reason i didn't get admitted in those college is my low percentile in JEE Mains exams. I choose NIET because I got IT branch in this college which is a core branch and these days the demand for IT professianls is also alot. Other then that i reson i choose IT is beauce i can see myself growing in this industry. The admission process for the college was not a very good experience for me. First for ll i was really sick during the time of counselling. Other reason might be the managemnt during the physical reporting for the college. There was alot of crowd during the two days of physical reporting and the staff and management team was less.
Faculty :
The faculty members of the college are a mixed bag with some faculty members being very nive while the others being very rude and curt. Some faculty members are available to help students not only in their studies but also life situations and difficulties while some other faculty members arent available to help students with course related issues. One of the best faculty I encountered here was my first year maths professor, B.N.T Sir, as we called them. He had a very calm aura around him. He knew how to teach a subject as diificult as maths very calmly and with no diificulty and confusion. The faculty to student ration of the colle would be around 1/40. The college hosts 3 sessional or internal exams every semester. 1 exteranl exam every semester as well with differents presentations, assignments, quiz, etc throughout each semester. The first year also gives weekly tests which i think is really helpful for further internal or external exams.
Night Life :
There is no night life in the college. There is only evening life which is think is pretty decent. After the whole day at college the students are free to play diferent types of games such as badminton, volleyball, football, kabbadi, kho-kho, basketball as well as indoor games like table tennis, chess, carrom, etc. But the hosteller girls are allowed around the capus till 7 p.m. only. For the day schlors the time to leave the campus id 7 p.m. as well. The hostller boys are free to roam around the campus ground or to the canteen till late night.
