- The lecturers and professors are extremely talented and are very much experienced. They guide the students very excellently by engaging them in various activities and assessments.They motivate the students to excel in their own fields.
- The institute provides the opportunity to grow in various fields such as education, sports , cultural, literary etc. by providing the facilities of Laboratories ,Library , Playground, Sports courts etc.
Dislikes
- The course is not completed within the time period i.e at the end of each semester. Students find it difficult to learn by themselves before the examination.So the true learning of students do not take place.
- There are so many programmes organised during the working days and students are engaged in these programmes. This affects the studying and academic performance of the students.
Course Curriculum Overview :
RIE provides such an facilitative environment, the students grow in every field that may be in academic performance, sports activities, cultural activities, literary activities etc.The students experience hands-on learning through the very good lab facilities. Each department are having two practical laboratories i.e for physics, chemistry, Mathematics, Zoology and Botany for Science students.
Internships Opportunities :
Various schools like kvs and jnvs offer the students to join their schools as teachers. The students are provided with all accomodation facilities for internships and when they qualify there as teachers, they are provided a salary of around Rs 45,000.
Placement Experience :
The students of 8th Semester become eligible for campus placements. There are a large number of schools such as kvs,jnvs make offer to the college as per their requirement of teachers. Almost every student gets the placement provided by the college. My plan after getting the degree is to be a teacher in Kv.The highest packege per school is abou 45-50,000.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The course fee of RIE Bhubaneswar is around 45000.The fee includes 15,000 for institutional expenses including tuition fees of 5,000. SC/ST students are exempted from paying the tuition fees. Library fee, laboratory fee , school based experiences , Students Council fund , Cultural and state activities etc. costs Rs 500 each that is being paid by the students . Other expenses include admission or readmission fees, medical fees, institution fees, games fees etc. that costs around Rs 200 - 250.
Campus Life :
There are various types of festivals being celebrated in RIE Bhubaneswar i.e Ganesh puja in September, Diwali and Chhat puja in November, Saraswati Puja in February, Several other Manipuri , Jharakhndi and other state's festivals are being celebrated.The facilities of lawn tennis court, volleyball court, basketball court, badminton court, table tennis court and a spacious playground is great for activities, sports, or even educational purposes.
Hostel Facilities :
The room is provided with two almirahs having 5 shelves in each.One ceiling fan in the middle of the room is also provided. One electric board for the students is provided with 3 plugs. There are three students live in each room so each room is provided with 3 beds, 3 chairs and 3 tables. The floor of the room is fitted with marbles. The bathroom is also very clean and usable. The mess food is very good in terms of both quality and quantity.The menu includes Vada, Sattu Puri,Chhole Bhature idli,upma etc in the breakfast while it includes rice, dal , roti and various veg and non-veg curry in the lunch and dinner. Snacks is also provided to the students at 5.30 or 6pm and Chura fry, pasta etc. are given in snacks. Every student of the institute is eligible to be a border of the hostel. The hostel fees include mess fees i.e 30,000 per year and an additional establishment fee of Rs 8,000 per year .
Admission :
I applied for 5 more State government colleges such as Revensaw University Cuttack, BJB Autonomous College Bhubaneswar, Samanta Chandra Sekhar College Puri etc .I got confirmed admission from BJB Autonomous College Bhubaneswar.I choose this college because of the integrated course it provides in the affordable course fee. The admission process of RIE Bhubaneswar includes both entrance examination merit and 12th mark merit. It counts 60 percent from the entrance examination and 40 percent from 12th board examination result. The students who got more marks than others after adding both the results are most preferred. The cut-off is around 60 for ST , 75 for SC and 85 for General and OBC students. The admission of the meritorious students take place in a smoother way.
Faculty :
There are about 100 students in the Science batch and they have various subjects under Education and Science. There are 4- 5 faculties available in each department such as Physics, Chemistry,Biology etc. who teach the students about the subject matter. They are very much approachable and are like role models for students. I like C .H. Ramulu Sir and Animesh Kumar Mohapatra Sir for their disciplinary principles, teaching methods and personality.In a year , there are two semester examination being held in the college and in each semester two internal examinations are given by the students. A very less number of students get failed in these examinations i.e about 4-5 among 113 students. The examination are very easy for the students who study in an organised way. The course curriculum is very relevant.
Night Life :
There are gyms available in more than one place that is near the Lawn tennis court and another near Jagannath temple. Both are being used by students as well as faculties to remain fit and fine. It helps them to maintain a good health by regular excise.The campus timing start from 6am to 10pm while the hostel timing is from 6am to 8pm.The Arnapurna Canteen is the college canteen inside the campus that the students use for recreational purposes.It remains open from 7am to 8pm on working days.A grand library is located at the main building of the institute and is easily accessible to all users. The Library functions from 9 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. on all working days and it also opens on Saturdays and Sundays from 9.30 a.m. to 5 p.m.The Most famous hangout place inside the campus is the Jagannath temple and outside the campus are Kalinga Stadium, Esplanade mall, BMC mall , various parks such as IG park , Buddha jayanti park, Biju Patnaik park etc. The locality is safe to roam around at night.
