Honest review of tulsiramji Gaidwad Patil college of engineering and technology nagpur

Dislikes

  • The faculty for the first year is very inexperienced
  • The infrastructure and placements are very decent

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course is updated and includes everything required to be a skilled professional.. The exams are timely and not very tough The areas of improvement includes addition of more practical subjects.. more coding languages can be included in the curriculum

Internships Opportunities :

I have opted for internships in the first year But haven't received any response The college provides various paid and unpaid internships From 2nd year internships are compulsory (to sit in interview rounds )

Placement Experience :

The faculty haven't discussed with as about the criteria for placement From 2nd year internships are compulsory (to sit in interview rounds ) The frequent recruiters are wipro,TCS,HCL,Microtech,etc.. The highest package offered was 19lpa The average package goes around 4-5lpa Around 70% students get placed every year My plan after completing my degree is to get admitted into an IIM and pursue MBA

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fees for general category students is 120000? For sc category students the tution fees is not applicable... only 5000? has to be paid (admission fees) Sc category students have to apply for scholarship and pay back the tution fees to the institute.. At the time of admission i paid 10000?(prospect + admission fees) I paid additional 10000? as i opted for bus facility (25000? yearly remaining amount to be paid later)

Campus Life :

The campus life is chilled... The college library is fab and the infrastructure is decent sports facility is there and grounds are well maintained Every year a 3 day culture fest utkarsh is celebrated in the month of jan/feb.. The college website is pretty simple and handy all the resources can be found on the website itself

Admission :

The factors that lead me to choose this college is lower cutoffs and Autonomous status I tried to get admission to the nearest and the best college but i cant make it there as i wasn't getting my preferred course As my jee and cet score was low They do not conduct any interview or written tests for admission.. The admission is done on the basis of MHTCET and JEE Main percentile Due to lower cutoffs many students here are not very studious and intelligent(actually it is good for others as the competition is reduced)

Faculty :

The course is updated and includes everything required to be a skilled professional.. The faculty for the first year is very inexperienced and lack basic communication skills The exams are timely and not very tough

Students become eligible for placement from 7th sem but the training and stuff starts from 5th sem onwards. I don't really know much about the placements since I'm not planning on doing job after graduation and probably gonna do masters in the future.

Course Curriculum Overview:

So to be honest B.E course is a 4 years engineering course and it is not that easy and not too hard also. It needs a lot of focus, hardwork and practice to clear all exams. There are bunch of students who takes admission in B.E in first year but most of the students do back off in second year or some of them gets failed and gets an year drop. B.E course can be more efficient if we follow the teaching pattern like abroads. Less theory more practicals for students to understand properly.

From 7th and majorly form the 8th semester the students become eligible for the campus placement. Every year many companies visit our college like Goldman Sachs, Google, Infosys ,TCS , oracle, etc and offer a great amount of package to many students many students even get PPO. The highest package of this year was somewhere 61LPA and the average was 9 LPA. Somewhere around 82-83% students were placed this year and with good amount of packages My plan after getting the degree is pursuing a master's degree in abroad
