- Infrastructure is quite good, classes have ACs and projectors (many classes have and many have not) WiFi is also available in the campus.
- There is really a big play ground, a basket ball court and a botanical Garden which are really a beauty, science labs are also functional, Projectors in classes help for the lectures as well as presentations
Dislikes
- Infrastructure is good but needs repairment, there are much faults
- ACs are there but most of them do not work properly
Course Curriculum Overview :
I have chosen history as my second option after Pol. Sci. There was no specific intention for chosing it. As I mentioned above, I have chosen history as my second option after Pol. Sci. There was no specific intention for chosing it. The courses have been increased after the application of NEP, but skill based education is also added.
Internships Opportunities :
Ignite is the placement cell of our SGTB Khalsa College, it provides internship opportunities throughout the year, most of the internships are open for each department. Many students have been benefitted from them, many are paid and some are unpaid as well but they help students to brush up their skills.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
For the year 2024, I have paid 24180/- as my annual fees which is higher than last year since DU has increased the fees structure, my college also provides scholarships on the basis of economic conditions of the students (my friend got a concession of around 7000-8000 last year). This is the total fees, there are no other charges except the DU examination fees (which is given each semester).
Campus Life :
Lashkara is the main fest of our college which happens in Feb-March, singers are mostly punjabi as it is a Sikh minority college, the event is really good and is much exciting. There are around 30 societies in the college which are skill based, which try to enhance your skills, and these societies are run by students under the guidance of a teacher as convenor. There are many sports and extra curricular activities as well. Many sports events and tournaments are held every year.
Admission :
The admission process is totally based on CUET, as we need to prepare a preference list of the college and courses, which are alloted according to our marks in CUET, this course and college combination was my 10th preference which I got. I chose it since at that time it had NIRF ranking of 39 all over India and was in North Campus of DU.
Faculty :
The history faculty of Khalsa is quite good, teachers are helpful, and if you are passionate they will be ready to help you further, there teaching method is also good, some teachers use projectors to make you understand the things. Most of the students pass the exam with ease, there is no problem of attendance. Hindi Faculty is really good as I have attended their events.
