Course Curriculum Overview :

•The course is not that tough but it's not that easy too. •It requires dedication and time. •Theory is needed but in dentistry hand work is utmost important. •To excel in the clinics we should develop our hand skills. •A lot of patient flow helps the students to perform their best because they get tp practice more. •A lot of patience is required in this field. •One should have patience to get patients. •The exams are not very tough to crack. •Regular studies will help to score excellent marks •People also pass by studying from 1 month before the final exam

Internships Opportunities :

•Internships has to be done compulsorily after the final exam of 4th year. •The stipend is just Rs. 4000 per month which is very less and the interns do complaint about it. •But other than the stipend the interns enjoy their internship period. •They get exposed to a number of patients and number of cases which improve their handwork amd they gain lot of experience. •Rural postings are for 1 month.

Campus Life :

•There are not much extra curricular activities in this college. •There is no campus life as shown in Karan Johar's movies. •The college is in the dental hospital itself which makes it easier for us to switch between clinical postings and classes •However sports and cultural programme are conducted each year by the union batch of 3rd Years. •A lot of research programmes and seminars are conducted in the college which gives exposure to the students towards the real world. •College is fun. Sometimes it's tiring. Most of the times it's boring. But pre clinical work makes each day interesting and fun. •There are 2 canteens. One non-veg and one completely veg with affordable prices. Students often go with their gang to hangout during the recess. •Masala cheese dosa in the non-veg cafeteria is everyone's favourite right now. •Focusing on the library, it has a nice peaceful library with lots of dental books which the students can refer to. •The KS. Hegde Hospital and our dental college is in the same campus. •The treatment in both the colleges is absolutely free for the students.

Hostel Facilities :

•For girls curfew is 8 pm and for boys it's 10 pm. •The hostel is inside the college campus which makes it safe for the students. •Hostel food is not that bad. It is edible but sometimes it's really bad when paakashala comes into rescue. •Paakashala is an online food ordering app of the hostel mess itself with very much affordable prices. •It has to be pre ordered one day prior before 9 pm. •Chicken biriyani is everyone's favourite which costs Rs. 60 only which is finger licking delicious. •Chilly paneer is just for Rs. 40 which is equally nice. Can you believe that? •There are a lot other options. •Gym is free for the students which is inside the campus. •Indoor stadium with basketball, throwball, volleyball, lawn tennis, table tennis and badminton is available inside the campus itself. All the students can enjoy each sport. •There is a ground for cricket and football. Concerts are also held in the ground. •Just across the road of hostel campus there are many cafes including KFC where students are often found to be hanging out with their friends. •People also opt for apartments with 2 BHK and 3 BHK which is very near to the college. •PGs are available near the college too. •College and hostel are at a walking distance. However college buses are available all the time for travelling. •Our college campus is completely free of ragging however in the boys hostel few cases of ragging has been reported •The girls of 1st year are kept in some other hostel of the university like with the students of pharmacy, nursing, general sciences in the paneer campus or with the medical students to avoid ragging. •From 2nd year onwartthe girls are shifted to their BDS hostel.

Admission :

•I opted for this college because of its extremely good patient flow and the method of teaching. •Advanced lab and equipments attracted me more towards this college. •This college was my first choice

Faculty :

•Faculties are approachable. They help us in the best way possible. •Every 5 students are allotted memtors. We have counselling with our mentors every week regarding academics, personal life, college life etc. •The academic year is not divided into semesters. Instead there are 3 sessional exams in the year •We need to score 50% in each subject to pass •If we fail in 2 sessionals we are required to write one more paper for the qualification for university paper i.e the final exam •However if a student scores 35% in all the 3 sessionals they will be allowed to sit in the final exam •So passing marks is 50% but qualification marks is 35% •Before they used to consider best of 2 out of 3 sessional papers for the internal assessment marks which is included in the final marksheet but now they consider the average of 3 sessionals. •Compulsory attendance of 75% is required regardless of any reasons. A student having attendance less than 75% will not be allowed to write university paper whatsoever. No excuses. •There might be 2-3 faculties which the student may not like because they are too strict.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Bachelor of dental surgery is a professional course where we deal with the oral hygiene and health. A student should be attentive in studies as he/she has to deal with real patients after in future. Exams are quite difficult but with practice anything is easy .

Course Curriculum Overview:

The specific aspects of the curriculum that mainly influenced my decision to choose this course are the equal ratio of theoretical as well as practical training, and we get early clinical exposure when compared with other medical degrees. Through clinical rotations in various departments, students gain experience in diagnosing, scaling procedures, extractions, and restorations. But advanced procedures like lasers, implants, clear aligners, etc are out of the reach of the students. Another good thing is the enhancement of soft skills like communication, patient management, and ethical practise, these are very important for maintaining patient trust. Areas of improvement are management should incorporate more advanced digital dentistry tools and technologies in the curriculum. This could prepare the students for constantly evolving dentistry. The college conducts 3 internal theoretical as well as practical exams before the main University exam.
