Course Curriculum Overview :
The curriculum is on bar with rest of india as it follows UGC guidelines and standards for the syllabus. And almost all the teachers are well equipped and in bar with the syllabus being thaought. While there are some teachers who needs and update in knowledge and the changing schemes of the syllabus to meet the standards of the national level education system. Exams are quite frequent atleast 4-5 tests a month which goes on for 5 months and then there is the sememster exam at the 6th month. The difficulty of exam depends on the teacher as the questions are being set by them. I would rate the difficulty of exam to be 7/10
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fees are paid in two installments per year, usually more money is paid during the first installment as it involves the admission fees for the academic year. All the necessary fees like regustration, caution, library, bus fees etc are paid off during the first installment as the admission fee which sums up to about ?20000(tution fees for first semester also included) and during the second installment this would only be ?10000 i.e. for the tution fees only. Bus service is provided which is only about ?500 per semester. This bus service can be availed by any students with ID as it is compulsory to pay the fees both for campus dwellers and day scholars.
Campus Life :
The college has a very healthy social construct. Many activities from sporting events to musical events to festivals are organised by the various departments of the college. Some co curriculum activities like NCC and NSS are some of the vest in the state. It has a strong construcr in religious aspect as well for people who are interested in christianity.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel is quite affordable if it is the main hostels that the college provides. Not everyone gets the college hostels as there are limited seats and are given based on merit basus during the entrance test. The infrastructure od some of the main hostels are not the best as its been there for a long time but the mess are managed by the senior students and hence food depends on the management ability of the seniors.
Admission :
I choose this college as it is the most reputed and longest running college in Nagaland, not forgettkng the high affordability. The teachers are well experienced and from around the country and hence more diversity and more room to learn and grow socially as well. It is a historical college with many prominent figures being an alumunus of this college. To get into the college pne has to go through an entrance exam after 12th or after B.sc if opting for masters degree. The cutoff of each entrance depends on the performances of each students applying jn that particular year.
Faculty :
The ratio of teaching faculty to students is about 3:25 which is quite standard. Most of the teachers are well experienced and some from across the country and can be considered one of the best in the state with some conferred awards in their field of research. Almost all the departments are research oriented with some providing P.hds as well. Specifically in Physics department Dr. Sanjay who is a reknowned scientist in India provides P.hd in armospheric physics. The faculty specialises in different fields like particle phsics, atomic physics and also astro physics. Exams are conducted internally and externally.Internal test are monthly tests conducted by the teachers individually. While external exams are the final exams for each semester. As the college us autonomous they set their own paper so difficulty of paper depends on the teacher.
