Course Curriculum Overview :
I have people in my family from Hotel background. I wanted to join food industry since adolescence as I learnt that it is a course with more of practical and lesser theory. I always wanted to not study and this dragged my interest towards Hotel Management.
Internships Opportunities :
I did my industrial training in JW Marriott Hotel Kolkata. Stipend depends on property to property. There are many opportunities for internship if you would like to you can grab it from your end or you can ask the placement coordinator to help you get the intership they can suggest you brands and properties where you can get interviewed and achieve a chance to get the intership done . They give training in all four core department of the hotel .
Placement Experience :
Campus placements start from 5th semester. In the first 2 months of 5th semester students are groomed on their interviews and personality development. After that one by one companies visit and then we do crack the interviews . There are many students who wanted to start their own business after completing the course.. Many renowned company like Taj , Oberois , The Park , Accor group, Sapphire foods , Tommy Hilfiger, Dominos etc come for campuses
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
I did my regular course during 2017-2020 . The total course fees was around 400000 rs for 3 years. It was a semester based payment . We do have online payment options of fees . The whole 3 years course was very organised . All the faculty members were helpful. They have always helped in extra development of the students. Placements were organised with really high value companies and everybody was provided with the scope to grab a job. In the 2nd year half of the students go for their industrial exposure in the first term and rest in the second term . I am proud that I have been a part of IHM Ahmedabad.
Campus Life :
We have many social recreations like annual day, Halloween , Diwali , tree planting events , annual sports, etc. We had annual conference with high valued individuals luxury chefs and many more . There are social groups for stray animals, Hindi language, nukkad natak also
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel is inside the college campus. It has very big rooms with a cupboard, a bed , a study table and chair . The food is really good. The menu is cyclic menu which is repeated weekly. You can have unlimited food given that you cannot waste anything. Outside food is not allowed. There are around 6 washroom in each floor with 12 rooms and a water purifier machine which gives normal, chilled and hot water .
Admission :
I got AIR 1267 and I chose 3 best colleges. I wanted to come to Gandhinagar as it provided with the veg course also . I did NCHMCT JEE and then joined here . You can give the exam anytime after HS till 23 years of age .
Faculty :
Each year has around 600 students. It is divided into 5 practical batches and 3 theory batches . There are 5 practical subjects F&B service, Bakery , Food production, Housekeeping and Front Office. Each student is given equal chance and equal attention towards their learning process. Salla Vijay Kumar Sir , Sanjit Maji Sir , Vinay Namjoshi Sir , Satish Singh Rajput Sir all of them have been the best teachers I have ever interacted . They are some of the faculties who consider their students' learning before everything.
