- The college in terms of academic fee is very affordable and located in the heart of Navi Mumbai. So , if one is focusing on accelerating their career in litigation, this College is preferable.
- University is very beautiful and lush green , providing a great place to chill out with your friends after bunking classes (lol). Canteen area is shared by other campuses as well . Hence , it becomes a great place to interact with other students.
Dislikes
- Management of the college is not good . Hierarchy and politics exist resulting in degrading the aura of the inside campus .
- The management also want to regulate the behaviour of teachers a lot of times which affects the teaching and learning process. College also lacks placement cell so you should also consider this point if you want to join corporate world.
Course Curriculum Overview :
This is the harsh reality not only of this college but any law college that you'd take admission in ( NLUs are excluded). Course curriculum is formulated in such a manner that it lacks knowledge of practical world . What you learn in college, most of them may not even be relevant when applying in the real ground . So I'd advice you to focus on course curriculum just to score good in exams . Rest focus on getting internships as much as possible.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Yearly fee structure for this college is , as of 2024 is 41,000 . The college has increased the fee this year because of infrastructure development that happened in the college. Previously for my batch , it was 30,000 and it had been same for 2 consecutive years. Scholarship is provided for the students belonging to SC/ST/EWS category. College also provide travel concession.
Campus Life :
They've recently changed the infrastructure of the college. So , it looks good now but the washroom condition is still bad . Campus life exist outside of campus because you'll hardly find anyone attending classes religiously and with enthusiasm. Students come to college and prefer to sit in the canteen with their friends rather attending the classes. So , if you prefer that, it's good for you. Committees are not active here so you'd seldom meet your seniors. Seniors who can actually be helpful don't attend lectures too and busy in doing internships.
Admission :
You've to qualify the required cut-off in MH-Law-CET exam conducted by Maharashtra University if you want to take admission in any college affiliated by Maharashtra University. My reason for choosing this college was location advantage that this college offers. District court is very nearby and High Court is also 1 hr travel via local train . At the end , if you want to do good in law , you have to have practical knowledge which you learn by visiting courts . However, I'd have prefer some other college if I had known about the management system herein. If you're getting ILS , GLC , PGCL these colleges or 2-3 colleges having low cut off than DY for that matter, go for it without having a second thought . You'll atleast not be stressed out.
Faculty :
If you're enrolling in 5 years long B.A.LL.B course then forget about getting proper education on B.A subjects . Teachers are not upto the mark and at times you'll feel like wasting your time attending classes . Many a times students don't attend their lectures due to this reason . However, law teachers are good and knowledgeable. They teach you B.A subjects for straight 2 years so 2 years might feel like a waste if you're not making efforts by yourself . Hence , I'd advice you to join an NGO in the first sem and law firms in subsequent semester to avoid wastage of time . Also , there's no mid sem exam . It's just internals (which the college doesn't take very seriously) and end sem exam which is pretty easy so you can even do year long internship.
