Collage review

Remarks :

Positive comments about the couse and academic structure which is one of the best in the country! With high importance to research and laboratory work which trains one to excel in future situations

Course Curriculum Overview :

Structured well to give a proper and deep understanding of the life science field . Graduate program is one of the best in the country with adequate exposure to research based skills ! Exams are conducted thrice a semester , all marks taken into consideration for final CGPA

Placement Experience :

Placements are good with a lot of pharma related companies coming into recruit skilled and able students. Interships in the college is a true possibility with professors who lead multidisciplinary labs. No stipend is provided for interships.

College Events :

Celebrations and extra curricular activities are highly promoted with days dedicated for celebrations of onam, chrismas , diwali , holi. Along with cultural and sport meets held annually with a controlled and healthy competition among students.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Fee structure has increased over the last few years where now it is almost double the amount of what it used to be ! Despite the raise in fees , admissions are increasing compared to earlier years , one would say that the fee structure is among the more expensive of colleges.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Scholarships for post graduation is given out based on performance in the entrance exam and interview, it can be obtained by 2 students of each batch. Loan facilities are also available with forms duly filled and applied.

Campus Life :

Extra curricular activities , sports facilities are good with badminton court, foosball, carrom and chess all in and around the building , dedicated football , cricket and basketball grounds are available.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel infrastructure is good , it has good sport facilities and a strict no alcohol/cigarette/drugs policy. With wardens who keep things in order and strict timings for entry and exit. The cost for mess is a little high considering that they only serve vegetarian food.

Alumni/Alumna :

Alumini network and help from seniors are very active as there is a alumini form on the college website , where people share experiences and future opportunities for students who arr coming through the program.

Admission :

An electronic multiple choice entrance exam followed by a detailed interview with a panel of 5 interviewers, interview is to check academic knowledge and reserch experience of the applied candidate. Schlarships provided based on the above.

Faculty :

Faculty to student ratio is more than impressive with skilled and highly qualified professionals who are interested and approachable. They guide one properly along with being regular to classes and taking effort to make the students understand.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My decision to choose MSc mathematics at Farook College is because of the systematic curriculum they are to be provided. It is quite useful for getting a high-quality of education. They prepared real-world applications. I suggest the curriculum should be prepared according to the preferences of students. The exams ae semester-wise.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am very interested in a teaching career especially teaching mathematics, so a teacher should understand the subject matter in depth, I chose to select MSc maths after completing my bachelor's degree. We have numerical analysis, cryptography, computer programming, and boolean algebra as papers of applied mathematics, we can find its applications in computer coding, data analysis, engineering, etc. We can be a data analyst after completing MSc maths, after studing a six-month data analysis course. The curriculum should be improved by giving a space for data analysis papers in one of the semesters. The frequency and timing of exams are well scheduled, the course is not surely an easy one but can be cracked by little effort.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Our batch was in Covid lag batch. So the course curriculum was highly rushed. We weren't able to cover aspects which would have real world applications. The last semester research project was fine but still more hands on experience and more research oriented approach could've been taken .

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am a graduate in biotechnology so for me genomic science was ideal as I was interested in it. There could be more experiments in the practical sessions and more placement opportunities. As of now there are no placements. Also the department could bring in some international and national conferences too.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are very high. We get a minimum package of 6.5 lakhs per annum and more. The top end companies like EY , Deloitte, Tcs , federal bank, IBM, Tetrapark etc.. are available for us.

Placement Experience:

There are departments with placements and university has got a placement cell. There are also various career guidance classes, Innovation and entrepreneurship development centre(IEDC) to support students. But my course is more of a research oriented and as such I can apply for phd opportunities myself. The faculties will help in getting internships, recommendations and journal publications as long as long as we are interested.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Talking about the course, as it is a pg course the main thing is the effort we put in this subject. The teachers has a limit and it is always the effort we put from our side to complete the course. Frankly speaking, the course is a tough one. Syllabus is so long that many things are there to study.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for the placement in their final year of the course. We have BS-MS, MSc, IPhD and PhD currently. Students from BS-MS are more likely to be placed. Though placement is less as students mostly go for research after masters. We have a placement cell that notifies about the opportunities in industries and academia. As my plans are to pursue a PhD after getting this degree so I never got interested in placement opportunity.
