Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose food tech. As a food technologist gates are open for you in food industry. We are prepared here for industry as well as to work as a lecturer in college. Course curriculum includes industrial training after 1st and second year respectively which has to be done in food industry. So these industrial trainings are plus point for our entry in the industry after we complete our degree. Final exams are conducted in the month of May June every year and in between the year two sessional exams are conducted first one in September and then second in December.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

MCM DAV College is a very good college for girls. Staff here is very dedicated and all staff are females only. Teachers are intelligent and dedicated. This is good college for extra courses also other than academics like interior design, cosmetology etc. One can opt for these courses with regular studies. Fees is as per Punjab University standards. I opted for hostel. Hostels are quite nice but fees is high as compared to other colleges in the tricity.

Campus Life :

My overall experience in this college was good. First of all when we entered the college in 2012, there was freshers party which was held in college Auditorium, there I enjoyed a lot and made new friends. There's celebration of teej festival in the college in the month of August. We get holidays for navratri. There's DJ night held in hostel 3-4 times in a year. Celebration of Christmas is also there. Halloween party is also conducted. Punjabi singers also come to the college. Farewell party is also there in hostel as well in college also. Food festival is also celebrated. Workshop are also conducted in our department where students from other colleges also come. MCM is good place to get admission.

Hostel Facilities :

Bed, mattress, cupboard, bucket, mug, bedsheet, study table is provided by the college. Common toilet and bathroom are there on the both sides of lobby. Meals are provided 3 times in a day and in the evening snacks are provided with tea/milk. Tea/Milk is also provided with the breakfast. Mess food is good to eat. You need to purchase hostel prospectus at the time of admission. Hostel is somewhat costly as compared to other colleges in the tricity.

Admission :

I gave CET exam for being admitted to PU campus but wasn't able to clear that as there was 85% quota for tricity students and only 15% for other states. I applied for government colleges also. I was getting admission in govt college sector 42 also but in BSc. Microbiology but I decided to go for BSc. Microbial and Food tech so I chose MCM DAV. This college is the only one that offers BSc in MFT. Students are admitted on the basis of marks obtained in 10+2.

Faculty :

There are separate teachers for every subject. Teachers are there to guide you whenever you need them. Faculties are friendly in nature. I liked Vandana Sharma mam and Geeta Mehra mam. These teachers are intelligent and friendly with students. I didn't like our chemistry practical teacher as she was the most strict teacher there as if I know. In our class there were 3-4 students who were not able to complete the degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Actually I was always interested in environment so I decided to take it. The curriculum is well designed as we have to study the all current situation of environment and their issues. Experiment part is not upto the mark The exam frequency is fast. But is not so difficult because everything comes inside the syllabus only.
