Worthy Campus Diary - MIT Muzaffarpur

Dislikes

  • Campus Life will be more beautiful and healthy if campus will be addiction free. Students should be monitored and counselling should be done on regular basis.
  • As MIT is Engg college under Bihar Govt, so Infrastructure should be well balanced and attractive, because there's no issue of funding and implementing. I can see, it's now improving day by day. But still, faster resolution is required in the hostel

Course Curriculum Overview :

Opting for Mechanical Engineering course was a better choice. In fact, each branch has its own value and demand. So you can go with any branch as per your choice. Teaching through showing animated videos and 3D pictures or designs will be helpful for the students and to easily connect with the topics. Faculties were well qualified, they were from IITs, NITs. They all have done their PHDs and selected through BPSC recruitment. Our term exams were on time and difficulty level was moderate as the things come in exam was from the notes and guidance of our faculties that made easier for us to write in the exam and get decent marks. You'll get more knowledge if you try to connect with faculties in positive way.

Placement Experience :

The placement and job opportunities are definitely well at MIT. infact, it's best when compared to other colleges in Bihar. You've to be in Final year of Graduation to participate in the placement drive. TCS, Yukinova, Infosys, Academor, Hi-Tech Next, Shriram Finance, Teachnook, Neometrix, etc. Highest Package offered is 9.6 LPA for IT Branch student as software developer and Average package offered at MIT is 3.5 LPA which includes multiple job profiles. Percentage of student get placement each year is approx 75-80% of respective branch in a session. I have been placed in 7 different companies and I am thinking to join anyone of the companies after my degree.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Total Tuition Fees for any program at MIT is ?10*12=?120 per year. You've to pay Exam Fees of 3700/semester and 2500/year as development fee. It means you've to pay ?10,020 per year as College Fees if you belong to categorise other than SC/ST. If you are SC/ST students, then you've to pay less than 7000/year as College Fees. If you opt for Hostel & Mess facilities, then it'll be costlier but in range and genuine. Hostel fees per month is approx 1100 (for boys & girls) and Mess Fee is 3500-4000/month (for boys) & 3200-3500/month (for girls). If you are aware of Govt scholarship schemes then you can easily get by fulfilling all the criterias set by Govt. You'll get bonafides from college authorities easily to upload on respective scholarship schemes, like Post Matric Scholarship/ONGC Scholarship/ Pankh Scholarship/Pragati Scholarship, etc.

Campus Life :

My life at MIT MUZAFFARPUR campus was amazing and memorable. Friends were so entertaining and helpful in nature. I am really blessed to study my B.Tech. there. In MIT, there are multiple fests organised periodically at college level and at Inter-college level. TechMITi- Annual Tech Fest of MIT which generally held in the month of April-May. UMANG- Annual Sports Meet. Fiesta- Annual Arts & Cultural Meet. These are the inter-college level events which is organised at MIT in which different colleges take participation in the event. There are more than 5000+ books in library from different branches. Amenities in the classroom are: Smart board, Light, Fans, AC, computers, Desk Bench, Table Chair, Window, Gate, Fire extinguishers. Social Group of MIT is Prakriti club which is dedicated to nature of MIT campus and surrounding and it also offers Yoga classes periodically. There are multiple clubs in MIT such as IT working Group, Sports Club, Moxie-Technical Club, Junoon-Arts cultural club.

Hostel Facilities :

Yes, I have opted hostel facilities. Hostel mess infrastructure was definitely good of boys and girls hostel and the services provided there was also well and disciplined. To apply for the hostel rooms, you've to fill the Google form shared at the time of admission in MIT.

Admission :

No I haven't applied for any other colleges than MIT. My only preference was MIT Muzaffarpur. I have to do Engineering from Govt college, so I got to know about this college under Bihar Govt and was excited to join in. There's a common exam namely JEE Mains. Counselling to different colleges and branches depends on the score of JEE Mains. Once you cross the cutoff of JEE Mains, you're eligible to apply for BCECE Engineering counselling processes to get admission in Bihar Engg colleges. You've to prepare PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY, MATHS well to compete in the examination.

Faculty :

Faculties are really supportive. You'll get more knowledge when you try to interact with them. Faculty to student ratio is 5:1 at MIT. I liked all faculties of my college from all respective departments, they are really supportive and kind.

Placement Experience:

Yes. Placements are not overall good in my college. But companies come, just like TCS, and many startups reaches our college for providing internships as well as placements. From the 7th semester I.e. 4th year students are eligible for sitting in the placement interview sessions. The average package is around 4-5 lpa. Around 60-70% students get placed every year. I will try my best for the placement but majorly try for the off campus placement.
