The exposure and new experience of college life while being in co-ed college.
The faculty is quite friendly and welcoming to freshers and can be very professional which is sometimes good. I also appreciate the teaching methods.

Dislikes

The cancellation of classes while we travel for those classes.
Living in PG can be hectic too and can affect your college life in balancing your private life.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Psychology hons (BA) is quite intellectual course which improves my approach towards it quite easily as I'm a science student and learning behavioural changes is intresting to me. English in genre fiction and professional english is what I also love in this course. Exams are based on semester wise.

Class Size : 45Course Fees : INR 18070 per year

Placement Experience :

All 3rd year students are eligible for placements in my DU colleges. Companies like Brain, concentrix, delight, ICICI Bank offered their placements in my university. 60% to 80% students got placements. After getting degree I would like to continue my placement if I get any.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I pay year wise fees as well as exam fees. Tution fees is not High as compared to other colleges, admission fees of my course was also affordable for middle class people for this degree. Lab fees is not that high too. Other courses like English honours fees is very less in comparison to my course.

Campus Life :

In DU many fests are held which are college based and many are university based in which every student of University from every college can attend the fest (uni based not college based). They offer many extracurricular activities like sports, music.

Admission :

I applied to other colleges of Delhi University like Miranda house, Gargi college, Hansraj College, SGTBKC, Lady Irwin college and others but on cuet base I got selected in particular college of north campus which I also love. The admission process of Delhi University is quite long due to CUET exam.

Faculty :

Faculty to student ratio: 3:40-50 Faculty to student relationship is good as per the student behaviour. Faculty can be approachable without any difficulties as they're quite friendly. Some senior professors are quite rude but nice too. There's 6 to 7 exams per semester.

Maitreyi College is Underrated, A VERY NICE EXPERIENCE

Course Curriculum Overview:

Coming to english hons I had a little different expectations and this turned out to be a little different, This course is too much till where I have studied is inclined towards literature which sometimes students do not like. There are many subjects inside the core, but subjects like literary studies caught lot of attention due to it's attractiveness and different perspectives. Sometimes things go a lot off syllabus which disrupts mindful learning but thankgod it's just 30-40% of it.

The course curriculum is not updated . Teachers uses old method of teaching on pen and paper. Like in statistics now various tools are available in market and instead of making us learn those tools teachers are teaching the most basic things on pen and paper.But the course is very demanding nowadays.

Good and bad's of my college

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is basically design to study economics in a depth so that the understanding of student related to world economic, how economics work , how it affect an individual etc increase and he can work more efficiently to give theories and work in the companies related to economics. The curriculum includes value added course and skill enhanced courses that help us to learn different types of skills that are required in the real world applications. Improvement in these can be done by asking the student to apply all these into real life and connect students with the real life approaches related to the course. For core subjects the timing of paper is 3 hours and for sec and vac courses the timing of paper is 1 hour.

Life as a student in DU

Course Curriculum Overview:

1) i had interest in history from my class 11th. I wanted to further increase my knowledge ane thus accepted my course 2) the course not only prepares u to give exams but actualy leads u to study many papers, books that expands your understanding of the course and also real life challneges where u have to apply it. It also prepares you for further academic pursuits 3) they can opt for more practical learning apart from classroom learning, they can make field trips and let student know about research also 4) the end exams start after 4-5 months of sem start. U are given well enough time to prepare gradually. The assignments, test can make it hectic but if u complete the given work in time, u can prepare well enough for the exams and do well.
