- I liked the college and the location it's in. Very calm and refreshing
- The teaching staff is very friendly and supportive.
Dislikes
- The cleanliness could be better and they could've given us a field by chopping off the weeds and tall grass.
- Some classes don't have sufficient facilities. Despite having all the fans intact and air conditioning fitted inside the classrooms. Some of them don't work.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Dhemaji Polytechnic has workshops and laboratories that prepares the students for real-world applications. The college offers 100% placement to the students, assuring them a job in the future. The faculties can improve in some specific areas such as switching from traditional teaching methods to smart boards on a daily basis where it would be easier for the professors to explain in a more elaborative method.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
We pay ?3,500 every semester i.e. ?7,000 per year. The course is of 3 years and the fee structure has been reduced from ?4,700 to ?3,500 from 2nd semester onwards. All types of other fees are included in this amount; although the college might ask for additional expenses if required which most of the time doesn't exceed more than ?500-?700. There are financial aids available for deserving students as well.
Campus Life :
Dhemaji Polytechnic organises events like Freshers, General Election, College Week and Farewell every year. It also has a library with all the necessary books required for the course chosen by the students. Some classrooms are equipped with air conditioning and a smart board that helps the students attend classes in the scorching heat during summer. Sports is a major aspect in every college. Likewise, Dhemaji Polytechnic organises various sport and extracurricular activities during the College Week where students compete with each other while establishing a friendly and enjoyable moment. There is a Union Body in the college that overlooks the problems and the issues faced by the college and the students. This Union Body changes every year and new members are elected by the students.
Admission :
In my case, i didn't have any specific college in my mind. I wanted to study Junior Engineering so i applied for it. The admission process for applying in Polytechnic colleges was by appearing for an entrance exam and later giving our preferences in our desired Polytechnic colleges. Although it has changed from appearing for the Entrance exam to having to take admission merit wise based on HSLC marks and percentage of Mathematics, Science and English.
Faculty :
The faculties are very friendly and supportive towards the students. They provide the students with all the materials required for the course. Then students have to appear two exams pet semester. The first one is a sessional and the other one is the End Semester Examination.
