- The faculty is great, they are approachable, friendly and good at what they are doing. classes are interactive as well.
- the societies are great and very active. this can totally enhance your overall college experience and give you an edge over others.
Dislikes
- even though societies are active and will provide good exposure, the fests are not conducted on the same scale as other colleges.
- it is off campus , that can be a minus point.
Course Curriculum Overview :
the course curriculum is great in terms of being a good mix of theoretial foundations (cognitive psychology , bio psychology, abnormal psychology) and practical applications (such as coounselling , organizational psychology and research methods). We did research in all three years and topics were based on current trends, that really prepared us for the evolving nature of the field. the comprehensiveness are also smooth, the teaching was interaction based, they provide us with necessary notes, we did lab work and internships as well.
Internships Opportunities :
the faculty do provide informtion regarding the internship opportunities, till 2023 internships were not compulsory in psychology course. but they collaborated with Fortis and offered us different internships for clinical psychology, fashion psyhology and psycho-oncology. the faculty also provided opportunities for research internship under them. Some students published their own research paper under their guidance which was great.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The year wise was around 25080. Tuition fee is 180. Registration fees is 500. college facility and service charges are around 15500. Student welfare fund is 4500. University development fund is 1200 and college devlopment fund is 2000.
Campus Life :
Shaheed Rajguru college offers a well rounded experience through various activities and events.I was in theatre society and the exposure was amazing. Teachers are supportive and understanding. Students are encouraged in a mix of academic, cultural and social activities.Althoough the scale of fests and events are smaller compared to other prominent DU colleges, but they strive to create engaging enviroment. the campus is modern, well euipped. they have ground, allocated rooms/place for clubs, auditorium and amphitheatre are also there. they also have NCC. the canteen is also affordable, clean and nice.
Admission :
I chose shaheed rajguru over kamala nehru and it was the best decision of my life. I got all kinds of exposure here. It totally depends on the student how they want to invest thier time. i would say shaheed rajguru has a niche focus on applied sciences while other DU colleges focus on broader spectrum of courses. But i would say shaheed rajguru is more foused on academics than other collges of DU. The admission process is online and smooth, they provide all the information on the portal. Overall I would say it is a great college but yes, the other colleges of DU have better reputation and that is all. Shaheed Rajguru has good exposure and it provides great academic education.
Faculty :
The faculty is dedicated and experienced. they are friendly and approachable for guidance. the college provides many bachelors in science courses such as biochemistry, biomedical, chemistry, computer science etc. one B.A. course that is psychology , BFIA and Bachelors of management studies. the courses are structured in a semester system and follow CBCS. the curicullum is mix of core papers, elective papers and skill enhancement courses. marking scheme is based on internal assessments (25% of total marks) and end semester exams (75% of total marks)
