- I feel the societies and clubs provide you with numerous opportunities and are very enriching especially for your resume. The college is in a diplomatic area with embassies so it is safe.
- The people here are friendly and there is always something happening in societies and clubs accompanied with departmental competitions. The infrastructure is great and the college is safe with police booths outside
Dislikes
- The professors can be very snobby and out of touch but that depends on the department. There is lack of social life department wise.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I wish to appear for upsc so I feel the ge history was a good choice and also the pol sci dep course's some core subjects are very relevant like constitutional study, administration, international relations and so forth. The SEC and VAC are really good and helped me prepare my CV but that depends on what SEC and VAC you choose. The frequency of tests, assignments and presentations can be exhausting though
Internships Opportunities :
I got an internship at Corizo and got to work with expert psychologists in various case studies. There are different courses which provide various internship opportunities with good stipend and you can enroll yourself in really good courses at a discounted rate.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
This year my fee was rupees 2160 rupees. The fees for some courses at JMC include: B.Com: Rs 21,930 Bachelor of Vocational Studies (B.Voc) Healthcare Management: Rs 31,020 Bachelor of Vocational Studies (B.Voc) Retail Management and IT: Rs 31,020 B.A. Computer Application - Mathematics: Rs 22,630 Digital Marketing: Rs 16,000 Data Science & Analytics: Rs 16,000 Cyber Security: Rs 20,000 Other fees, JMC also charges a one-time convocation fee of Rs 700, a research students' union membership fee of Rs 100 per year, and a research students' union election fee of Rs 200 per year. There is also a re-registration fee of Rs 5,000 if required.
Campus Life :
There are various really good clubs at our college but my favorite is definitely the Electoral Literacy Club which is affiliated with the Election Commission of India itself. The debating and MUN society and the marketing society hold various functions too.
Admission :
I did apply for Stephen's history honours and got it too but something about pol sci has always drew me towards it. The admission process in the college is quite easy. During the first day there the departmental professors give you the roll number after logging into the college portal. You then show your documents like aadhar card, 10th marksheet and 12th marksheet.
Faculty :
The student-to-faculty ratio is good and the professors though can be strict are understanding. I like the HOD of the Political Science department for her way of teaching and keeping us in line. I did not like Bipasha ma'am though because she can be very difficult at times. There are 7 subjects which include 3 core subjects, 1 minor subject and 1 skill-based course, and 1 value added course. And they are quite relevant.
