Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is very well structured. I always had interest in coding and networking. So that was the reason why I chose this postgraduate course after I completed my graduation. As I mentioned earlier the faculty members are well experienced they teach you hands on training so that you will be capable to counter real world applications. In my opinion if there will be on campus mock interview sessions it would be helpful for the students who've lack of confidence during placement. Students get 3-6 months gap between every semester. And the difficulty level is average. So a student can clear the exam very easily with a little effort.
Internships Opportunities :
There are no companies for internships where they offer stipend too. Although students can join industrial training institutes like ardent computech, globsyn where they will be taught project based hands on training along with certification. There are two projects in the course includes Major Project and Minor Project. The students are separated by groups and each group will have 4-5 students and a mentor. They will complete the project and present it on the presentation day, that's how it works.
Placement Experience :
For MCA course students are eligible to appear in the placement drive once they pass the 2nd semester with no active backlogs. There are several companies come on campus during the drive including TCS, Cognizant, Capgemini, Accenture, Wipro and many other startups to hire the students. The average salary package the students get is approximately 7 LPA. The highest package offered till now is 12 LPA in college. The percentage of the students getting placed is 90%. Although students need to work on themself by taking courses from udemy Coursera and other sites to up skill themself. My plan is to start a business which I'm already working on.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The total fees of MCA in FIEM is from 250000-260000 rs. for 2 year. So the annual fees is 130000 rs. Total 55000 rs. Per semester includes all the development fees, lab fees and other compulsory charges. The admission fees is 40000 rs. Although there will compensation per sem if you've graduated from FIEM. Rs. 5000 discount will be applied for every sem fees. So, per sem will be 52000 rs. for the students who've graduated from FIEM. Apart from that the fees structure for other categories is almost same for everyone. Although students can avail scholarships like Swami Vivekananda scholarship for financial support.
Campus Life :
There are several cultural programs throughout the year where you can participate including Impulz (April), Freshers party, Farewell party etc. There are also tech fest like Hackathon. There are two libraries in the campus where students can go sit and read quietly and borrow books from there for a limited time period. As I mentioned there are very few classes with smart equipment for teaching, probably that is the only drawback. There are programs organised by Sportivo club where students can join and participate in inter college football competition and cricket tournaments. There are two main cultural clubs Estrella and Culruv and for sports there is Sportivo club in the campus.
Admission :
I chose this college instead of any other colleges because the fees structure is lesser than other colleges and also as I was already a student of FIEM because I've completed my graduation from here so I was familiar with the faculty members already. I've applied in Heritage Academy for the same course but the fees structure was too expensive The admission process is quite easy. You just need JECA rank and you can easily get admitted with your verified documents. I didn't get rejection from any other colleges but as the heritage's course fees structure was expensive for me to afford that's I couldn't take admission there.
Faculty :
The faculty members are well trained and experienced as a result they are really helpful towards the students. You can approach any teacher at any time if you have any doubts. In my department there are Ashok taru sir, Subhashis sir, Bidisha ma'am, Indrajit Sir and Monalisa Ma'am they are the best in my opinion. As FIEM is affiliated to MAKAUT University. So the exams are quite easy to clear. Although you might need some other courses from udemy, Coursera etc. if you want a clear concept in your subjects.
Other Applied Colleges
Heritage Institute of Technology - [HIT] | Master of Computer Applications [M.C.A]
Because the fees structure is expensive than FIEM. And as I was already a student of FIEM so I was familiar with all the faculty members and culture
