- I like the friendliness of the teachers and their helping nature.
- The things which were taught in the class was the syllabus for the exam most of the time.
Dislikes
- Few teachers were very much adamant and wanted to earn by taking tuitions.
- There is no coding culture in the college.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I very much like the course because it is mostly similar to the course of b.tech Computer Science and engineering. The only thing it misses is the adaptability of the course with the revolution of new technology. I think every teacher should use presentation for visual learning. And I would suggest the administration to take one continuous internal assessment instead of two show that the students get time to study properly and not panic because of exam is near.
Placement Experience :
Almost 20 to 25% of the students got placed with the average package of 3 lpa. Shiv company that visited the campus are Accenture, Sentientgeeks. Student also got up campus with TCS and Deloitte. Many also got MCA program in reported colleges like Delhi University, Jadavpur University and Kalyani Government engineering College.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
We have to pay a total of 22000 approx per year. This included tuition fee library fee and different other face like electricity sports etc. different categories of people were charged the same, I think. There are state government scholarships.
Campus Life :
There are several cultural events that keep on happening now and then. Mostly they occur in the winter time. There are different books for academic purpose and I have not read any journal. The teacher uses presentation for teaching. Annual sports event is present but I haven't seen teachers to encourage students to win medals.
Admission :
I got the admission notification from Ashutosh college in Kolkata. I also apply to several other colleges summing up to a total of 35 + colleges. I choose this college because the merit list for this college came first and I had to take a very much hard decision. So this is how I got this college. I also got rejected in several other colleges because of my low marks which led to lower merits score. You need to have mathematics to get into BCA in this college. Your final merit score will determine if you can make up to this college or not.
Faculty :
There is a total of 7 teachers in our department and we had almost 90 students. Few were very much friendly while others where trying to squeeze money out of tuition. For this reason I like Dr. Krishna Gopal Dhal. He single handed eradicated the teacher who was promoting tuition culture. Per semester we have a total of three exams two of them where continuous internal assessment and finally the and semester examination. The continuous internal assessment were 25 marks each. At the end semester was of 70 marks. A total of 50 marks from the continuous internal assessment would be counted and mark out of 22.5. the other 7.5 would come from the attendance.
