- The campus is very big and beautiful. It is full of greenery and gardens. There is also one big garden where we can play football and cricket.
- The are so many places to eat like Nidhisha Canteen, Yogi, Iceberg, vaghbakri, etc
Dislikes
- The students of Computer engineering are so many which will be a disadvantage for us during placement.
- In depstar, the faculties have made the college like a school. We are not free to do whatever we want to do.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The curriculum between Computer Engineering (CE), Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) and Information Technology (IT) is almost 85% same. There is only minor change of 2-3 subjects. Like in IT students have to study maths till the 4th sem, while CE and CSE students have to study it only till 3rd sem. There are two internal examinations and one final examination per semester. The exam occurs usually at a span of 1.5-2 months
Internships Opportunities :
There are various internship opportunites available in pur college. Outside companies like Agevole approached our college for hiring students for internship. But our college also provides inhouse internship for students of 4th and 6th sem during summer where students under the guidance of professors do the internship. I had done my 4th sem summer internship in ahmedabad.
Placement Experience :
From the end of 6th semester, students can become eligible for campus placements. Various companies visted our college are:- TCS, IBM, Motorola, MG motors, e-infochips, Talent-systems, Mastek , ThinkBiz, etc. Highest Package of this year till now is 12LPA and average is around 4 LPA. Almost more than 80% students get placed every year.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The annual fee for me is Rs.102000 (51000 per sem). It is for students of 3rd and 4th year. While the 1st and 2nd year students have to pay around Rs.135000 yearly. During registration, Rs. 2000 was charged as a registration fee. There are many scholarships available but for students who have their parents annual income less than 4.5 lakhs or so. The most famous one is MYSY where students can get 40-50% waiver from the Gujarat Government. For eligible in that scheme, the annual income should be less than 6lakhs and you should get 80% in gujarat board.
Campus Life :
The names of annual and technical festivals are:- Spoural - a sport event occured during the month of Jan and Feb where inter department sports competition takes place. Cognizance- Cultural and Technical event held during the end of Feb. Vrund - Navratri celebration of one day during navratri. There is one big ground where students can play cricket and football. and there is also a basketball and volleyball court. Indoor sport facility is also provided for games like TT, chess and carrom. Many groups are there like GDSC.
Hostel Facilities :
College doesn't provide hostel for boys. There are so many hostels outside college around 10. Average hostel fees is around 1 lakhs. The food quality is decent. The hostel provides breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu is different for each day. Common menu includes one veg sabji, dry potato sabji, moong, rajma, chana ,rooti, dal ,rice and buttermilk. The registration process is smooth just you have to fill one form and pay fees for one sem. There are 4 beds in my room, 2 study tables and one single attached bathroom-toilet.
Admission :
For eligibilty is BTech in Computer Engineering, the student should complete 12th in science in maths group. Students can apply through college website or from ACPC. If you apply through college website, you have to pay around 350-400 Rs. There will be management round where all students would be called who had applied through this. There is no reservation here. I got this college through ACPC in vacant round.
Faculty :
The faculty-to-student ratio is pretty good and not bad. I don't have the exact data but yeah you can see many faculties around you. There is one counsellor allocated between 20-25 students which organizes meeting regularly to ask suggestions from us. We interact with our counsellor atleast once a month in a meeting, we also can personally meet them for our doubts or so.
