- Campus is huge no need to go outside the campus for anything. There are facilities like gym, playground yoga center, restaurant, xerox shops
- Every year there's a college own fest known as Prayukti and Rivera.
Dislikes
- Traveling to howrah and haldia by local train is worst but There are many alternatives to rich haldia.
- As a student studying there, I can see there's less exposure to socializing with other.
Course Curriculum Overview :
As I'm a civil engineering student, have many opportunities there in college to develop my skills in my field. Environment of study in this field is very highly competitive. This course includes many different types of core subjects related to civil engineering. There are many job and higher education opportunities in this field just students don't have that much knowledge in this field. College provides practical traing along with thoery knowledge to their students. Its easier to study there only for pursuing degree. But if have talent and want opportunities for yourself you must habe to study for placements.
Internships Opportunities :
Yet, I'm in 5th sem so i have done only one internhsip in BCCL so i didn't get any roles offered. As I'm a civil engineering student, my seniors had done internships in BIS, IOCL, Haldia municipality, Haldia Dock and every single year provides atleast one internships to the students comfirmly.
Placement Experience :
By studying there for 4 yrs you yourself can understand what to do in future or not. About the placements every single students gets placed whether its high paying or low paying job. If anyone gets unplaced they have their own fault. Many companies comes with high packages and big comapnies also come like accenture, adani, nestle, capegimi, tcs, pwc, mindtree etc. are mass recruiting companies that comes to college every year. By qualifying gate or any other exams you can also go for further higher studies. Along with college you cam also prepare for govt exams or any off campus companies. There's huge opportunities for your future.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
There are 8 semester in total 4 yrs the fee structure is different in all the 8 semesters. The fee structure is given by the college authority. As you can see the last year 2022 fees structure there is total amount as 5.5L approx with hostel and without hostel its approx 4.5L and 60k to 70k per semester. Hostel charges are about 12k per semester. You can visit the College website or portal to know in detailed information about the fees or scholarship. Year by year every thing changes as you can see that there's a lot of difference in 2022 fees and 2023. So for further information please visit the official portal of HIT College.
Campus Life :
College has West Bengals best campus it includes gym, yoga center, 2 playgrounds basketball court, restaurant, shops, library. Every year college celebrates technical fest prayukti amd cultural fest rivera and there's also annual cultural meet. Last year in 2023 Ashneer Grover has come to our college for fest. Cricket and football intra college tournaments are organised every year. Basketball is for both girls and boys and they go for tournaments outside the college to compet with other colleges. There nothing like clubs but you have 2 3 places near college to go with your friends to enjoy ur evening. But for clubs and expensive fashionable restaurants you have travel kolkata by bus or train which is approx 350km away from haldia.
Hostel Facilities :
There are 3 girls hostel and 7 boys hostel Thers seperate hostel for foreign students for both girls and boys. Hostel is average for students and they provide mess facilties also and its also average kind. You can also rent a room single or with your friends near college to stay. According to meal is not good for north east peoples its average but you can survive with that meal there.
Admission :
You have appear for wbjee and jee mins for seeking admission in this college. Cutoffs are very high for taking non core branches if you wanna take admission you have to score 10k above rank in wbjee and you have appear in counseling of wbjee. College doesn't take direct admission everything is merit based. If any condition or for direct admission you to qualify wbjee and jee mains.
Faculty :
The faculty are very good. Each and every person there is good in nature. Every dept has its own faculties for every thing. They have immense knowledge of their own subject. And it also depends on you how you can deal with college faculty in a good or bad way.
