- The most important thing that i liked about my college is its greenery. Charusat campus is completely filled with full lush greenery
- The another thing is that the ratio of faculty to student is good. This allows for more personalized attention and mentoring
Dislikes
- First thing that i disliked about my college is that there are very limited number of clubs, most famous is Google Development Student Clubs (GDSC).
- The benches of some floors of the institute are outdated. They are flat and it is hard to be sit on.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The curriculum in charusat is similar in branches such as computer engineering, Information Technology and Computer Science Technology. All students of these departments study almost 80% same subjects throughout the 8 semesters. The curriculum is well-defined in preparing students for real-world applications. The outdated old subjects are been removed and new subjects such as Artificial-Intelligence, Blockchain, etc have been updated. The improvement could be such as new subjects like soft skills should be included to develop personal development of the student. The frequency and timing of the exams is appropriate and studenst get enough time to prepare for the exams
Internships Opportunities :
There are many internships opportunities given by the college. Our college Faculties regularly send us emails about the internship whenever companies approached the college. There is also inhouse internship offered by the college where the students had to do internship under the professors The project that i have done is on Harmoni -Event Management website which was made on technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript and React. It was a learnful experience where i learnt many things about how industry level projects are done and how industry code need to be written
Placement Experience :
The students here at CHARUSAT become eligible for campus placemennts from their 6th sem. The Several companies which had come are:- Bacancy, TatvaSoft, Celebel, Crest data system, E-infochips, Mastek, Gateway, TCS, IBM labs, Motorola, Odoo, Talent system, ThinkBiz, etc. The highest package is being offered this year is 12lpa and average package offered is around 3-4lpa. Almost 90% and above students are getting placed in CHARUSAT. My plans after getting degree is to take on-campus placement
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
When i had taken admission in the college, the fee that applied to us was 104500 for first year and 102500 for rest years but after our batch ,there is a hike and new fee for juniors was some around 136000. My total college fees would be 410000 without any tuition waivers. There are several scholarships available in our college such as MYSY( Mukhyamantri Yuva Svavlamban Yojna) and some merit based scholarships provided by college to financially aid student. I don't have yet enrolled in any campus employement yet.
Campus Life :
Charusat hosts several vibrant cultural and technical festivals throughout the academic year such as SPOURAL- which happens in Jan-Feb, Cogniznace which happens in Feb , Vrund in Navratri, etc. The central library is well -equipped with a comprehensive collection of books and jounals from all genres such as science, fiction, etc. There is a very big ground where students can play cricket, football, freesbee, kabaddi, etc and for indoor games there is a indoor complex. The student-run clubs are environment club, GDSC club, rotaract club ,etc
Hostel Facilities :
There is no hostel facility given by college for boys, the facility is only available for girls. There are many private hostels around 10 outside the college where i also live in one of them. So in my room of Prince hostel ,we shared room among 4 people. There is only one single attached bathroom and Toilet. But there is no gallery in our room The meal quality is better than other hostels and we are offered food different every day. In lunch we get two sabjis, rice, dal, salad and buttermilk. In dinner we get daily different food. In registration process of hostel, you had to fill one form and had to pay Rs.5000 deposit + Rs 70000 for first 6 sems at first time. Our hostel name is Prince hostel which is just opposite to Charusat College.
Admission :
For pursuing BTech(CE) in our college, the student should complete his/her 12th from science with maths group. There are two ways from which a student can take admission in college. First is from ACPC by giving GUJCET and from its merit. Other one is by applyingfrom CHARUSAT website which have their own management round, where students are called and are offered admissions based on their merit. The reservation benefits will be availed by student only if he/she gets admission through ACPC. The internal exams are held twice around every 2 months and one final External exam at the end of sem Overall the admission process was smooth and easy
Faculty :
The Faculty-to -Student ratio in CHARUSAT is very good. This favorable smaller ratio allows for smaller class size, effective mentoring and counseling whch provides students with more personalized attention and interaction. Such a setting can enhance the learning experience as students often find it easier to ask questions and participate in discussions. The faculty at Charusat comprises well-qualified professionals. Even many of them are Phd holders, but there are also many new teachers which are in-experienced and can't give better output. There is counseling meeting every 2 weeks where students interactive with faculties.
