BMSIT - an honest opinion

Dislikes

  • There's a lot of assignments and projects that's you have to do once you join this college
  • It's a little far from the centre of the city but there are plenty of buses from the city.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Currently, it's an autonomous institution where the college holds full authority over exams and syllabus. They mostly follow the VTU syllabus and by far there's usually an updation going on in the syllabus as per the trend advancements.

Internships Opportunities :

I am still in my first year but our seniors have got internship opportunities in the 4th and 6th sem from various top companies like Microsoft Amazon etc. The teachers too encourage students to take part in internships.

Placement Experience :

There is about 85 percent placement happening this year. It varies from branch to branch. The lowest is three lpa and the highest would be 26 lpa. Students get placement opportunities from the 6th semester itself. There's a dedicated placement training cell that looks after this.

Fees and Financial Aid :

The Annual fee is 100000. The Tution fee for kcet remains the same for every year. Currently Management quota fee is four and a half lakh per annum in my branch. Well, there are several stipends given to students if they work in BICEP.

Campus Life :

There's one cultural fest (utsaha, vaibava) and one tech fest (tech transform) happening every year in June and December respectively. It's fun and you learn something every time actually. The campus is mostly filled with greenery.

Admission :

I got through the KCET exam. I paid around a lakh as fees. There are other ways like comedk and management. The fee is higher in these. I solely chose this as it was the best college for my ranking. I secured around 10k ranking in the KCET exam.

Faculty :

There's 60-75 people per section . Some teachers are extremely good while some are bad. It's the same everywhere. Most of them have completed their PhD and many of them are pursuing it.Some teachers are too friendly that they helped us bunk classes too.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Our college (NHCE) is affiliated to VTU but it's autonomous college. I like mechanical engineering and my father is also a mechanical engineer which inspired me to mechanical engineering. It is a bit outdated, expect more applications of the concepts. As I said we have exams every month, the frequency is good and the difficulty of exams I mid to easy range.

From 4th semester onwards students are eligible for the placement. Alots of companies like VISA,IBM,Accenture etc2 visited our college. The highest package recorded as of 2023 was from VISA offering 32.2 lakhs. 90 percent of the students get placed. After I get my degree I will work for awhile in the corporate world and starting up my own business on the side.

Placement Experience:

Many top MNC's come to the college. Recently the placement opportunities has increased when compared to our batchs.Companies like TCS, Wipro, IBM, Infosys, SLK, Mphasis etc had given us the opportunity. The average package offer was 3.5lpa or 4lpa. The highest package known to me was 10lpa for a CS student not for us. The placements begins either at the end of 6th sem or in the beginning of 7th sem. Almost 60-70% of us were placed by the end of graduation but due to recession the onboarding was very late. Waited for more than a year to get onboarded.

The college placements are pretty good and provide an average of 6lpa for the students. There are lot of IT companies visit to oyr college but there are no opportunities for the courses other than IT related branches. Students become eligible after their 6th semester in the academics.
