IIT DELHI INSIDER

Dislikes

  • The grading system is a bit absurd. it's completely in the hands of profs. It's entirely his will to give good grades or bad ones.
  • It's a highly stressful environment for people in non circuital branches. Managing academics is one of the primary goals over here.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum covers more topics than any other college. In first year we are introduced to some basics of departments like mechanical, electrical and camputer science. The curriculum is taught in depth and interesting if you study consistently.

Internships Opportunities :

getting into companies is easy and it's not difficult. Only few people are get into quant but if you prepare hard enough you can get into those companies. You just need to be consistent and constantly upskill yourself and work hard. Most people don't work hard but here you need to work hard to get good placements as well.

Placement Experience :

In 3rd year you are eligible for interns and in 4th for placements. Top companies like Google, Microsoft visit here. Companies like quant which pay a lot also visit here. The average package is said to be around 18 lakhs for placements and getting an intern around 70k/month is quite decent. The people of getting placement is around 85%.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

There a lot of scholarships available. You can check them on the website itself. Some are provided by the alumni itself. The tution fees is around 1 lakh and it's a government college. There is an SBI branch where you can avail education loans at low interest.

Campus Life :

There are two mains fests held which is rendezvous which is the cultural fests. Clubs are maintained by students. There are societies as well. There are almost all types of clubs both technical and social clubs. The bools referred in our courses are also availabel throughout the semester if issued by the book bank.

Hostel Facilities :

We get meal three times a day. The food quality is well maintained by student bodies and is checked regularly. We just need to fill out 5-6 forms which are available on the website itself. You need to submit the form to your respective hostel's caretaker.

Admission :

For my branch you need to have a 3k+ JEE rank for general category. For qualifing jee advanced you need to clear JEE mains. There are category cutoffs for JEE mains which are available on the website itself. No improvements should be done in the admission process because it seperates a disciplined one from the others.

Faculty :

The profs have great knowledge, many of them have studied from IITD. The teachers are approachable and are pleased to interact with the students. Profs love interacting with students and are also sometimes looking for people within our campus for help in their research.

Placement Experience:

Usually the placement session starts in the beginning of the 4th year when the recruiters start coming however some people get PPOs even in the end of 3rd year. How the number of on campus internship is quite less of around 100-200 including all three campuses of NSUT. As of now the a total of 457 companies visited for on campus placements and 1400+ offers were given out of 2500 students in the yr 2023 published by the College administration. The highest package offered was 87 lpa and the average package was around 8-10lpa overall. The placement percentage would be around 60-70% overall but talking about my own ICE branch it had a fantastic percentage of 97%. My plans after getting degree is to getting into either a tech MNC or into a core semiconductor company like Qualcomm, Foxconn, etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because I am interested in mechanicals. There are few courses in which more than one branch studies so more number of students otherwise 70-80 students per faculty. Faculties are well qualified done masters from foreign universities. Some faculties use slides others use chalk and board. There are minors(mid-sem) and majors(end-sem). Other than that there are quizzes ~4 per semester per course.
