Course Curriculum Overview :
This course curriculum i.e. B.Pharmacy is nice and one can opt no matter whatever stream you have in science that is biology or maths. And B. Pharmacy course has a really wide number of different opportunities. You got a lot of opportunities after completing the course. The curriculum here in the college is like that, it will nurture, you and prepare you for real-world applications and further studies to that is M. Pharmacy or Pharm D whatever you choose. There is a GPAT examination for M . Pharm you can clear that also. The areas of improvement here in the college are when any teacher is absent or is busy then they should not force students to sit in the classroom and waste their time rather they should let students choose what they have to do. There are 2-semester examinations in one year. In 1 semester there are 2 mid-term examinations or MSTs for each subject. Their difficulty level is average. The semester examination difficulty is medium to hard.
Internships Opportunities :
They provide internship that is the summer internship or training which is essential for B. Pharmacy students in Mohali-based industries or Baddi-based industries. They provide internships or training in companies like Torrent, zyndus , etc. These are not paid internships means one will not get any money they only provide training for different roles according to the industry. After completion of training, one has to submit a report based on it and give a presentation.
Placement Experience :
From 7th semester the students become eligible for campus placement. The college provide placement of around 2 lakh per annum . Not very great companies come here but yes one can get the placement. Companies from Mohali , Chandigarh, Baddi ( Himachal pradesh) usually come here for campus placement. Highest package might be 2.5 lakh per annum and lowest might be 1.5 lakh per annum. Around 60% students get placed. Companies that visited here are Spectraforce , Add biotech, etc. My plans after getting degree is to do job in any pharmaceutical company or hospital.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Tution fee is very decent when compared to other colleges. The tution fee for one semester is 40000 and for one year is 80000 respectively which is quite decent and affordable for a B.Pharmacy course. The hostel fees per semester are 30000 along with mess charges and for one year is 60000 respectively which is very very affordable. We have to pay registration fees per semester of Rs 200 and ERP charges of Rs 450, Practical file charges for one practical file 250 rupees is charged. If there is any fest then one has to pay accordingly. There are no such scholarships or financial aid provided by the college. Campus employment is there for some students only.
Campus Life :
There is a cultural fest organized in this college named "Spontania” every year. This fest is of 4 days, 2 days for sports-related competition and 2 days for cultural related and fashion show is also organized. In this fest, the whole campus is divided into 4 groups and they compete between themselves for the trophy. Also a " freshers party” is organized every year. Some technical fest is also organized. There are inter-university competitions also and a ” Youth fest” is also organized. Pharmacy Week is also celebrated. There is a different library for pharmacy in the pharmacy department itself. There you can find every kind of required book for the course. Also, there is pharmacopeia present there. In classrooms, there are projectors for video learning. There are many kinds of sports offered on campus like badminton, chess, cricket, football, etc., and extracurricular activities like painting, exhibition, dancing, fashion show, etc.
Hostel Facilities :
There is no option for choosing a hostel facility as you like. One is forced to live in a 3 seater or 4 seater room only. There is no option for a single seater or 2 seater room. And yes there are no attached washrooms in the room. One has to use the common washrooms provided on each floor and the washroom’s condition is not good at all. The meal quality provided by them is also not good. The menu is almost the same and they offer only normal food. The quality of food they provide is not satisfactory at all. The registration process for a hostel is very easy and yes it is very affordable because the facilities they provide are not good according to me. One can go and see by themselves it wants to stay in hostels. I will consider living in a rented room or PG which is near the college. One can see it in jhansla , Banur or jalalpur .
Admission :
Here in this college eligibility criteria is that one has to only pass the 12th board examination from either the PCM or PCB stream. Or diploma examination respectively. Application forms can be filled out online through the college website or one can just come to campus and fill it in the admission cell, one has to pay 5000 first during admission. One can get direct admission here there is no examination for admission to the college. The application form dates are out one can fill it out from April or May to June. I think the admission process is quite easy.
Faculty :
The faculty members are quite good and knowledgeable and they teach decently. The syllabus is covered in the college itself. They also provide mentors for each batch of students for any query. Faculty members assist students and help them with everything. Teacher interaction here is quite nice. The faculty-to-student ratio is also decent and you can easily interact with faculty members if you have any queries. There are a sufficient number of faculty members in the college.
