Course Curriculum Overview :
Personally, I like it more than cept's curriculum. You do need to have sketching skills before joining, and there is a lot of model-making, but you can learn it your way through. Also, you need to learn Autocad by yourself (extra classes). But this is the same in many other colleges in Gujarat
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
There are means-based and merit based scholarships available. The fee is 1,20,000 per semester, so 2,40,000 per year, in addition to it, if we look at stationary costing, initially for all the tools required, it can cost up to 8,000 that you have to buy yourself. And then additionally, you will need to buy sheets and model-making materials as required. To continue availing scholarships throughout the degree, you need to maintain score above 80% always and full 10% attendance (except medical leave if you are seriously ill).
Campus Life :
Safe and secure, fully equipped with CCTV cameras. Perfectly safe for girls. Well-designed classrooms and furniture. But a bit strict in the form of academic work. You need to actually study to be able to pass. Kinda like a school. There are all sorts of sports, other workshops, college fests, freshers party, etc.
Hostel Facilities :
In-campus Hostel facility is available for Girls only in undergraduate programs. H4 is the best Hostel among all other on-campus hostels. The fees are quite high but the rooms are nice. About the H4 hostel, which I have been staying at, They have AC/Non AC, 2-sharing,3-sharing rooms with attached bathroom and balcony, and 6-sharing rooms (which are very spacious) with common bathroom. There is ample storage space in all kinds of rooms. The facility of laundry is also available which is to be availed compulsorily ( costs 5500 per year) The hostel is also available for Boys in post-graduation. There are a preety good number of PGs available for both boys and girls within 2 to 5 km of the college, and also a lot of students like to stay in rented flats.
Admission :
The exam of NATA is to be attempted to get into any architecture college. Admission to Nirma can be through ACPC(Admission Commission for Professional Courses) if you have done your 12th in GSEB and have attempted the NATA exam. There are 33% of seats reserved for this criteria. (If you have above 80%tage in Boards overall and above 130 (out of 200) in Nata, it's preety easy to get in. The other seats are filled by the college itself, which are also merit-based (All India Category), you need to fill out the admission form from the Nirma University website. All the details are available on the website, and you can also call to avail more information.
Faculty :
Even though there are 45 students in a class, for each subject there are 3 faculties so attention can be given to each student. The majority of faculties are well educated, with bachelor's and master's degrees PhD, whereas some faculties are pursuing their PhD alongside academics. The faculties are very approachable and even reply to our doubts messages after college hours.
