Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is decided by the Kerala University of Health Sciences. Actually it is pretty good compared to other universities in India. The benefit is that we study about many things which are not that much relevant to the 'Medical Laboratory Tech' title, so that we become equipped for higher studies and research opportunities. But the negative part is ofcourse the difficulty level, but if we work hard enough,we can make it out.
Internships Opportunities :
There' isn't any internship for B.sc MLT. But we'll be having clinical rotations in all departments (necessary) from our second year onwards. Clinical pathology ,clinical biochemistry, clinical microbiology, Histopathology, Cytology, Blood Bank, Serology, Mycology, Dermatology, and MRU are the major posting centers.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Since this is a government college, the annual fee is around 20,000 INR and if you come under any reservations like SC, ST ,etc it can be reduced to 1000 or 2000 INR something. The main scholarships which everyone gets is the egrantz.
Campus Life :
The overall experience is superb. I'll definitely miss this campus once I get out if here. This eco friendly campus with 2 beautiful gardens is really a heaven. Variety of DJ programs, cultural festivals, arts , sports ,etc are celebrated here in a very good manner.
Admission :
The admissions are based on the LBS ranks. If you score above 97 percentage of marks, then you can expect an admission in government medical colleges. No ither entrance exams are needed. The 12th marks is enough and Physics, Chemistry, Biology subjects are necessary.
Faculty :
The qualifications of the faculty members here are excellent. All of them hold good academic background. The student-teacher ratio is pretty good and it makes easier for interactions. Some faculties behave in a very supportive manner but there are few professors, who behave in an extreme rude manner and makes the students stressed .
