- The faculty is to reputed and good and all are very friendly
- Teaching methods are very good which helped me score good over all and campus life is best as it provides programs for new innovations and for enjoyment
Dislikes
- They need to work on Infrasturucture as it’s government
- Canteen and food is bad as most of all students are from Mumbai itself they bring tiffins but like me who lives in hostel so they need to improve their food in canteen
Course Curriculum Overview :
As I am in computer engineering it was so interesting for me from first in this college it's 3 year diploma in which all taught is C , C++, Java, Python . And teach it so good step by step. The aspects which influenced me to choose this course is the new fields like data science and data analysis and all which made me choose this as there's so demand for this . This college needs to improve in their practical sessions for computer as practical is only 3 times a week and if my course is computer practical need is everyday and for the practical computers and limited like 3 students on 1 PC which can affect our practical knowledge as 3 students have to do it mix all practicals.
Internships Opportunities :
As I mentioned internships are there for 6 months in 3rd year in which we have to good for which affects in last semester results but internships are searched by students itself. Companies like Wipro, Godrej,etc visits the campus for placement but the placements are not accurate to 80-100% As most students to degree after this diploma by direct second year admission in engineering colleges.
Placement Experience :
As this is polytechnic college it provided diploma in all branches of engineering. In 3rd year means in last year students have to do internship whole 6 months it can be paid or unpaid depends on students and mostly students have to search for their internship. And placements are around 80% as most of the students do degree in engineering after diploma and take direct 2nd year admission in engineering college .
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Tuition fee for first year was 5000 year as I am in OBC category for OPEN it was 8000 and for SC/PWD it was around 2-3 thousand. Overall cost for me it was around 7000 per year. Scholarships were provided as my college is government. There were so benefits in all categories like I was having bus ticket consession of pass , local pass conssions which was full half . And my hostel fees was 4500 per month which include all facilities and breakfast,lunch and dinner.
Campus Life :
Overall Campus life is average there are not much programs and celebrations done. Traditional day, Black day and Bollywood days are held in January month every year. And tech guru program in last week of march . Library has each type of blog u want except comics they have all books for all branches of college whic helps a lot in exam for important questions . But the cons of library are at one time we can take only 1 book for one week and the et gueva library card which we have to keep safely for 1 year. College have facilities but as Mumbai is so hot as so classrooms which his have 2 fan in one large classroom of 60 students. And in technology it just have one projector in one branch like in my computer branch we have just one . And computers are also limited for practical's . There are so many sports which are held matches also .
Hostel Facilities :
Overall facilities in our campus is average as it's government so we can't expect much. There are fans and all in classroom but not clean . And washrooms are not that much hygienic or clean. Meal quality is average in canteen but good in hostel canteen . In hostel there is 4500 per month triple sharing room that includes one small kitchen and bedroom which has beds tables and chairs and one attached bathroom. It includes breakfast ,lunch , high tea, and dinner . But the con is hostel is far from college as college is in Bandra and hostel in Kandivali where 80> student s are of my college. Registration process is simple which need just admission letter of college and job people are not allowed to stay only college students . My most of the friends who rented room are near college in Bandra East and Khar West this two areas are near college and the room are affordable as the student in this areas.
Admission :
Eligibility if the course was 10th pass and it was on merit list based on your 10th percentile and category . As I scored 86.80 in my 10th it was easy for me to get into merit list in my 1st round only.you can find application form on www.gpmumbai.ac.in. Application form starts after 10th result in June and application fees is around 500-800 . There are reservation benifits. Exam timing are there are 2 semesters in 1st year one is in January and 2nd semester is in April . And difficault level is medium to hard and of course it depends on students if they study hard and smart level can be easy for them. They should improve in admission process as it takes so many days and for the people's who comes from out of city find difficulties statin for this may days with parents for admission.
Faculty :
The faculty of my branch computer engineering is too god and of all other branches also. Our respected principle also has don't M.Tech and PhD like that all faculty is so reputed and intelligent . But if I talk about the ratio of faculty to student that can be a problem because in a class of 60-65 there only 1 teacher teaching which affects the teaching but the teaching techniques are overall good . And if students need anything they can directly interact to teachers if they ahev any doubts.
