Exams are conducted in well and organised way

exams are conducted just after a holiday whch can affect outside state students.
language barrier is there for non native of WB as teachers might start teaching in bengali.

Course Curriculum Overview :

data science is a growing field of cs so that's what i chose based on wbjee rank. labs prepare you well enough as they are compulsory and are conducted reguarly. college should include in demand industry tools in syllabus so that can help students have better oppurtunities. 4 CA's, PCA's, then end sem practical and theory exams per semester

Class Size : 70Course Fees : INR 550000 per year

Internships Opportunities :

AICTE cohert internship are suggested y college but most of them are wih no stipend. i am not aware of anyone that has gotten paid internship because of college. Mostly internsips are provided through referals.

Placement Experience :

placemnts are offered but mainly service based comanie come. as per seniors around 50-60% students have got placed concidering recession it's good. college does not disclose its pacement record but avg package here is around 4lakh. my plans are to get placement or apply for mTech

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

tution fee is around 60k per semester complete cost is around 5.5 to 6 lakhs there are scholarships avialable for native students if better rank in wbjee Companies start to come from the start 4th year for placement

Campus Life :

technokarsh, electica, intra are the fest conducted by different cubs of different departments. Library is rich of books. no AC in class room considering weather of WB its bad cricket, football, and chess tournament are conducted regularly ankuran, saflya etc groups are there and my friend has developed communication skills from there

Admission :

12th pass, jee percentile of about 90-95 and wbjee rank of about 6-8 k for general students. for management quota just 12th pass is eligible on college website applications are available every year wbjee is conducted once. Around 80-120 k students appears each year based on rank college is assigned after physical verification. questions are of moderate level online univ. registration should be done for students from ouside states atleast

Faculty :

faculty to students ratio is 1:10, that means you could approach them easily for doubts faculty are almost always experienced and teach well only downside is lab faculties/attendants are not up to mark personally i don't interact as much but most of them are approachable bu can be irritated sometimes as well.

Review of IEM Kolkata, a strict Engineering College.

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible for the placements after the sixth semester. The companies that generally visit us for placements are TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, Accenture, Wipro, Oracle, IBM and some other ones. The highest package offered through last years is 22 Lacs Per Annum and on average it is 4-5 LPA. 90% students on average get placed Every year. My plans after getting the Degree is to pursue Freelancing Full Time and Become a Web Designer.

Students from 5th semester onwards become eligible for campus placements TCS, Cognizant, Wipro, and Redhat are just a few examples of some service-based companies that offer placements to uem kolkata students. Good Placements

Placement Experience:

We become eligible from the later part of the third year to sit for the placements as the companies arrive then. Mainly placements are dependent on service-based companies like TCS, CTS, Wipro e.t.c. who mass recruits a whole lot of students with standard 3.5 to 4 LPA packages. Product-based companies like Oracle, Amazon, and trilogy too visited the campus. Oracle recruited a few of the candidates, Amazon too but nobody could clear the trilogy's OA rounds. Oracle offered a package of 15lpa and Amazon around 22 LPA. But a lot of students applied off campus and the highest placement off campus was 72 LPA in Google. The placement percentage is nearly 100% which is mainly due to the fact of service-based companies. I too am interested in IT jobs so am preparing for the same.
