- Environment, mainly the greenery inside the campus along side a wide variety of animal species mainly in birds if you're a hostelite then you can visit the areas on weekends early in the morning to watch the good sceneries of nature
- Cultural events and seminars , I think atleast there are 2-3 seminars every week in the auditorium and the events such as singing and dancing which as students we enjoy a lot in these events and seminars
Dislikes
- Vacation, as per me they offer a lot of holidays during vacation sometimes it feels like we are still in our school days as sat- sun is a holiday , in summer we get 1.5months holiday in winter vacation we get 15-20 days vacation
- Exam time, as I said that they are giving too much of holidays they always take our semester exams before Holidays and vacation so we get more 15-20 days extra in our holidays like our summer vacation starts from 15 may so they end up exams from 4may
Course Curriculum Overview :
Mainly I have taken admission in this college for its course curriculum only as I'm also getting admission in tiss tuljapur, vishva bharti and niswaas but the course curriculum which the university and social work department offers that's the main reason why I have choosen the course in this university. Basically other universities those are offering BA. SOCIAL WORK , they are offering internships but mostly they are offering internships but not from 1st semester itself but in GURU GHASIDAS VISHWAVIDYALAYA, they are offering it from 1st semester and they have placed us in NGO's in 1st and 2nd semester and then we have been placed in community and visit them every week on Friday so that's the best part of our course curriculum as BA.SOCIAL WORK is a professional course and internships are a important part to learn the work within NGO's and community.
Internships Opportunities :
I'm a student of social work department and as I have mentioned it earlier that I have choosen this university for internship opportunities only as they are providing me internships from 1st sem and we also have to do 1 month internship every year compulsory for every department during our 1.5 month long summer vacation so the internship opportunities are quite good from rest of central universities
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
As GURU GHASIDAS VISHWAVIDYALAYA, it is a central university and the only central university in the state of Chhattisgarh the fees is very much low as I have said tiss tuljapur fees was around 2L for complete course of 3 years or we can say 6 semesters but in GGU for any BA course the complete fees is around 16-20k and they only sometimes increases the fees that too just 500-1000 so it's very low . The scholarships , like students from the state of Jammu and Kashmir are getting 50k per semester as they get the admission through PMSSS Quota . The professors are also always their for OBC,SC&ST , those are getting scholarships around 3-5k per semester, I don't know the exact amount of it as I'm not getting scholarships. The students those play university games gets stipend and also accessories like track suit , tshirts , shoes and also get some stipend for practice.
Campus Life :
There are various clubs in the university itself such as Dance club , Singing Club , Photography club , Drama club , etc, basically the clubs take their own auditions ever year for selection of students in the clubs and they all perform in every seminar so it's a good place for the students those are having interests and talent in extra curricular activities. Talking about sports in university there are 2 big grounds , basket ball courts , tennis and badminton courts , Gymnasium, yoga room and they conduct selection on regular basis . Technology in classroom and overall campus is quite good if you're a student of GGU you have an access to wifi which you can use unlimited any time anyday just be near to any office aur building . Library is very big and have every book you need and as an aspirant for civil services you have a upper hand as there are journals and reports of different govt. Schemes and banks which will help you a lot
Admission :
Basically the admission process is not so much difficult here and if a student is scoring decent marks in the qualifying exams he can get seat here . University takes admission from CUET-UG/PG the cutoff are decent not so high not so low so if you're scoring decent amount of marks you can get admission in this university.
Faculty :
Faculty to student ratio I can only tell about social work department as there are 6 professors including assistant, associate and atleast 2-3 adhoc and 8-10 PhD scholars so we never feel like the ratio of faculty and students is a issue . Faculties are well qualified and some are also have completed there studies from bhu and within the professors we also get diversity as some are from South India some from eastern states some local so we get to learn from their culture and their teaching a lot . We can anytime go to them for our doubts and mentorship , they are always available and always they try to teach us something new and innovative they always organise national and international level seminars for us
