IIT Delhi review after 2 years

Dislikes

  • Strict curriculum, it is much harder than other colleges and getting good gpa is very tough
  • distance, the distance from boys hotel to lecture complex is very large and demotivates students from attending classes

Course Curriculum Overview :

There is a lot of scope in civil branch. it is called the evergreen branch of engineering so i chose civil engineering over CSE in lower IITs. There is scope for masters education from IIT itself or foreign universities. Lab components should be reduced. exams are well spaced with some sort of quiz or assignment going on every week or two.l

Internships Opportunities :

internships are in third year with tests happening in fifth semester. stipend goes as high as five lakh / month depending on company and job description, some students also do projects under professors to complete credits.

Placement Experience :

after 6th semester placement round starts, with tests and interviews going on in the seventh semester. over 100 companies visit IIT Delhi and offer 1200+ offers. Anybody who wants a job can get it but some students prefer not to sit in placements due to higher studies or preparation for govt. exams. such as UPSC

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

tuition fees is approximately 8 lakh rupees if you belong to upper caste. there has been no fee hikes since the last 3 years, complete cost is approximately 12 lakh rupees. including hostel and mess fees.scholarships are available for female students.

Campus Life :

rendezvous and tryst are main fest, they are cultural and technical fests respectively. with over 50000 footfall a lot of books are available in the library and you can also make the library purachse books you want. sports facilities are excellent such as cricket football, squash, tt, badminton etc, A lot of clubs as well for overall development

Hostel Facilities :

room has light fan bed shelf and cupboard. mess food is good and tasty lot of variety in mess food. registration for hostel and mess is done during start of academic year. fill a form and if room is available you will be given, Hostel condition are poor as hostel are very old. but it is okay. hostels are within the campus itself

Admission :

you have to perform well in jee advanced. opening rank and closing ranks are based on josaa counselling you get course according to rank you have obtained in the exam. if you belong to lower caste, admission is easier. you get seat very easily if you are SC ST OBC

Faculty :

faculty student ratio is approximately 1:10 and pretty good. All the faculties are very highly educated with most having completed their PhD from foreign universities. They have immense knowledge and some of them actually know how to teach so it is good. Except for some, most professors are very approachable and you can contact them during office hours for guidance or doubts.

As no batch has been passed out from our college, the first batch of BTech placements will be out by 2025 So then we will know about the placement scenarios and on campus and internships, but for a B plan, one should always Acquire for the trending skills in the society, my plans after getting the degree is either I go for the post graduate or I apply to off campus in abroad.

Placement Experience:

Placements in my college is preety good .. the only thing you have to focus is you have to maintain your cgpa and you have to develop skills .. Bec companies offered roles on the basis of cgpa for example only 9+ cgpa can sit for the position which offer 25-30 lakhs .. so it's very important to take care of it throughout your 4 years of btech

Placements stats are good for IIT Delhi. students entering their 7th semester are eligible for placements. Several companies visited for placements like Accenture, Cognizant, BCG , Microsoft , TATA, Quadeye , Jane street, Tower, etc. highest package was about 2.5cr/annum offered by Jane street for quant. trader profile . consultancy profiles are also high paying jobs.Almost 80-90% students got placed.but I have no interest in coding, AI, ML I want a job in core. so I am planning for GATE.

Placement Experience:

DTU have a great record of placements in past every year over 2000 students sit for placements and around 80 to 90% of student gets oncampus placements with top recuriters like Google, facebook, Amazon, Codenation, DE-shaw, Uber etc. In 2022-23 highest package was 64 lpa with average package of 15lpa. But due to high competion in college itself a student must have to prepare for placement good enough.

Placements are quite decent. The Training and Placement Cell can be improved. The on campus and off campus placements' figures are really good here. Students bagged up placements worth 60lakhs+ last year.

After sem 6 students are eligible for internship and after 7 sem for placement. Microsoft, amazon, google, and Apple all made a very good no of offers to the students in NSUT. The highest package is the international package around 1.2 cr and the average package is around 15 LPA. Around 90% of students are placed according to the criteria made by the placement cell of NSUT. My plan after my degree is just to get placed in a decent company.

Placement Experience:

In this college placement is good enough if you have done a decent study then you are placed in a good package and good company. And if you don't do so study related to placement there are some difficulties in getting placed. There are many on-campus and also off-campus placements that occurred in the current session there is 64 lakh the highest package done. And the average package must be 9 lakh or above. And I also prepare for the placements.
