JKLU through my Lens

Dislikes

  • Far from city, it takes around 30 to 45 minutes to reach main city

Course Curriculum Overview :

They teach every course in a proper planned manner. We are more inclined towards practical work rather than theory or class work to understand the reall world applications. We do have a display and evaluation at the end of every course and then we have juries at the end of each sem which allows us to correct our mistakes that we have done during evaluation and the course and to get better on that particular area

Internships Opportunities :

I do not have very good knowledge about that but what I know is my seniors got good internship opportunities, if not from the they are so skilled in their field that they even got intern off campus too. I have no ideas about the projects but last month I got to know that our senior got inter in uber.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee here is very less as compared to other higher design colleges. The fee increases by around 10% every year but as a student who joined last year I have less idea about it. The college also provides very amazing scholarships and policy is very helpful, even I got 50% scholarship when I took admission and it helped me a lot financially. Also your scholarship gets extended if your grades are good.

Campus Life :

I would say it's the students that makes campus life better, and campus life is amazing here you get to involve in club activities. We do have various clubs that organise activities every week and make the place happening. We have annual events like Sabrang which generally happens in October it continues for 3 days and we have various competitions going on in different places of campus throughout the 3 days and then have fun and enjoy during night. We have events which are department oriented like jaipur design week and design guru day for design students in every sem and hackathon for btech students. We do have LRC (learning resource centre) which is our library and have lots of books and is a best place to get silence. All our classes are smart and do have speakers and mic for good communication.

Hostel Facilities :

I live here in the campus hostel and the hostel are very nice here. We have twin sharing rooms which includes 2 study table, 2 chairs, 2 beds, 2 mattresses, 1 common side table, large window, balcony I'm every room. We do have ac and non ac both rooms. I am in the AC one which is very well and the reparing happens very often an included in hostel fee. Mess food is a bit not well because all the students are from all over the India and it is quite common to have different tastes but it is adjustable and sometimes very good too. We have breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner which have specific time duration and the mess manager is very friendly and not very strict about time. There is no registration process you just need to come to campus or talk to the office and confirm that you will be staying in campus and you get a room after completing the formalities and the fees when you finally wish to shift in hostel.

Admission :

The admission process was similar to almost all the colleges. In which they took a entrance exam (good part was it was an offline exam for me) it was a design oriented paper and also with some basic knowledge of science and maths. Eligibility criteria was to have passed 12th class. Application forms were available on the websites and all the details too available there. There are no as such reservations based on caste but only based on merit and NID and uceed scores. During the announcement or results of entrance exam I didn't got to know how am I evaluated and on what criteria I got 50% scholarship which was something I didn't like and I think should have a clear results for that.

Faculty :

Very easy to approach and interact with them. Very friendly and helping. Support you everytime you find difficulty in doing anything.. all our faculties are NID and IIT graduates. We do have 1 mentor assigned to about 6 students (same batch) from all the years in which we meet often and discuss about our lives (campuslife, personal life, problems in academics, or anything), which I find is quite good when you have someone to talk to.

Course Curriculum Overview:

This course is my own choice it make us learn about the world of fashion designing the course revolve around thhis subject about stitching, embroidery, designing , styling and so on.. It makes us prepare for the outer world in fashion designing. I guess the teaching method here is normal and it should be improved in aspects of ways and methods. They should teach beyond the course and to face real life challenges

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum prepares us for our real world applications of what we have pursued as there are regular feedbacks and continuous guidance from the faculty. By the end of the semester, the students are evaluated by a jury who review all the work the students have done throughout the semester.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am quite interested in creativity and enjoy work related to space design so I chose this programme. I think this is my best decision as Banasthali has a very comprehensive programme for design as the theory, practical work, projects, field trips and workshops are very much balanced to provide as much experience in this field before we even start internships. Most of the practical projects are based on real field experiences. I think to better improve the course the faculties could organise seminars or workshops with successful individuals of the fields more so that they can guide us for our career choices. Exams are very evenly distributed in semesters. 2 FA and 1 final exams in a semester. Theory exams are quite easy if you have paid attention in the classes but practical exams difficulty is a little bit high due the course requirements & as the practicals are with external faculty. But if you are serious about your studies they are also very easy to pass and score high

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I always had passion in designing. I like to make simple spaces asthetically beautiful. The curriculum doesn't prepare us very well for the real world as we have very few outside world interaction during our semester. The management should increase the number of workshops and exhibitions for the designs students as we will get to know more about designing. Teacher should teach us more theoretically as well as practically as we have less teaching during the semester teachers mostly give topics and let us learn on our own.In-term Exams are held almost after every 2 or 1.5 month according to the semester. Sometimes the course is not completed but the exams are held that creates issues. But we have well prepared till the end term examinations.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements in the last (eighth) semester. The placement is done on centralised basis. Companies like myntra, Aditya birla group and some more come to the placements. Last year the average package was around 600000 per year. My plan after the degree is to get some experience from jobs and then start something of my own.
