  • Lavasa, despite being a beautiful and calming place, lacks basic medical facilities and it's 2 and a half hours away from Pune city

Course Curriculum Overview :

The curriculum is UGC and Bar Council approved and covers all the relevant subjects. More importantly, students are thought how to properly interpret the law which I believe is of great importance since laws are changing. Another thing that sets the curriculum apart from that of most of the other colleges is the courses for Moot Court and Trial Advocacy. There are 4 CIA's. The first and the third one is Internal assessments whereas the 2nd one is the Mid Semester examinations and the 4th one is the End Semester Examinations. Both the internal assessments together will make up 20 marks out of the total hundred, the Mid Semester will make up to 25, 5 marks for attendance and rest 50 will be marked based on the end semester exams. With enough preparation, you can pass the exam with ease.

Internships Opportunities :

School of Law has an Internship Committee under the Student Bar Association. Law students are required to complete a minimum of 7 out of 10 internships (2 internships in one Academic year, ome during January and another in July). The Internship Committee has an active database and collaboration team to connect with Law firms (both corporate and litigation) and NGOs to help provide internship opportunity for the students. They are also responsible in monitoring the Internships of students. Students have recieved Internship Opportunities from various firms like Bayer, Tata Steel, CRY, etc

Placement Experience :

There is an active placement cell at School of Law. Currently, I do not have much information about the packages because School of Law in the Lavasa campus was established in 2019, so the first ever batch will eb passing out this year only (2024). However I do know that there are students who have already received placements in Surana and Surana International, etc.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fees for BBA LLB is 2,42,000 for the first 3 years and 3,10,000 for the penultimate and final years. You can refer the official website (lavasa. christuniversity .in) for more details. The college does offer you Scholarship based on your academic merit as well as your participation in co curriculars and extra curriculars. The college also provides financial assistance to students who have financial struggles. The college also provides campus employment at the Library, through content writing, proposal writing, CDL, etc.

Campus Life :

There are 3 main University level bodies - SWO(Student Welfare Office), Student Council and CSA (Centre for Social Action). Most of the university level events are conducted by SWO and there are 5 flagship events - Darpan (Talent Hunt for Cultural Team), Bhasha Utsav (Ethnic Day), Magnificat (Christmas Celebration), Blossoms (Inter Department Competition), Sound Curry (Music Fest) and Nritta (A celebration of Dance). There are so many cells and committees that I can't fit all of them here. For law students, there's also a Student Bar Association under which tje4e are plenty of Committees such as International Law Committee, Criminal Law Committee, Human Rights and Gender Justice Committee, Legal Aid Committee, etc. We have a beautiful campus with smart classrooms and lot of study areas. We have 2 Libraries, one of which is mainly for law students. You can find almost all study materials, other books, AIR's etc at the library. Participation in sports events is encouraged in the campus.

Admission :

Once you fill the application form, you'll be notified regarding an exam. For Law, the papers were GK, Law, English, Maths and Critical Reasoning. After that, you're supposed to go for the interview. Both the exam and interview will be conducted online. For the exam, the preparation that you would have done for CLAT is enough. The application is open from December till June. The specific dates will differ from year to year.

Faculty :

Most of the faculty are very helpful. There are around 25 faculty (approx.) and 600 students (approx.) in SCHOOL OF LAW. The Associate Professors hold Doctorates in various discourses in Law while most of the Assistant Professors are currently pursuing their PhD. The mentorship program, where each student is assigned a faculty as a member as well as the routine faculty evaluations are helpful. All the faculties are approachable.

Highest packages have gone up to 12 lakhs per annum with average package being 8 lakhs per annum. Around 60% of students get placed. I plan to sit for collelge placements as I want to get into coporate law.

Placement Experience:

From 4th Year of the college the student is eligible for a pre-placement offer, main placements happen in the Final year i,e. 5th year. Companies that hire majorly are Tier-1 and Tier-2 law firms, like AZB, Khaitan&Co. Average package goes to about 15-16LPA. My plan is not fixed yet, but I aim to pursue SEBI or RBI law officer exam.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities in GLC are great. Top-tier law firms come to GLC for placements and internships. The highest package goes to 20 LPA and the average package is around 7 LPA. There are 2 placement weeks in GLC, one in February and another one in September. If one doesn't get any placements through the placement weeks, one can apply to the firms individually and they can be placed depending upon their experience and grades.
