  • Record works are more that you cannot study every day when you are an average student. You will be ultimately forced to study a day before exam which is very difficult.

Course Curriculum Overview :

In agriculture what you study in the books is not fully applicable in the field. The practical knowledge that the college provides is not up to the mark. 2.5 hrs practical classes must be engaged better. Every semester there will be 10-13 courses, each consisting theory and practicals. A mid-semester exam(20 marks) is conducted halfway through the semester. The practical exams(40 marks) are first conducted and there will be no gap between the exams. After this with one or two days gap the theory exams(40 marks)are also conducted daily like the practicals.

Internships Opportunities :

Frequent intership opportunities are provided by the college. AMRIT internship which was recently offered provided 6 thousand per month for 3 months. Within that 3 months the student must collect details of farmers from the alloted village.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fees for a student without any reservations in merit is 20500 in odd sems and 18500 in even sems. For reservation, the fees are much less. For 7.5% of Tamil medium students there is no fees, both college and hostel is free. There is an industrial quota where you will be paying 8 lakhs for a seat after the normal fees. In the NRI quota, you must pay in dollars which will be 2 lakhs per semester. The overall cost of the course will be less than 5lakhs for a merit student.

Campus Life :

Every year many functions like club inauguration, orientation day for the freshers, Pongal vizha, muthamizh vizha, kondatam, freedom, sports day, NCC day, nss day, batch day, hostel day and club closing day are organised by the students. The library is very vast and contains many good and useful books. All the sports and games are available in the college and provide many opportunities for the students to better their talent.

Hostel Facilities :

3 students per room are alloted and the student has the freedom to choose another room based on his roommate preference. In each room 2 fans 2 tube lights 3cots and cupboards are available. The bathroom toilets are cleaned regularly and the hostel is maintained well. Wifi facilities are also available. The meals can be rated 7/10 but are hygienic. The mess bill per month ranges from 3500-4500 rupees.

Admission :

Science students with biology subject are eligible for the course. The tnau website provides all the details of the admission process. For certificate verification you will be forced to travel to coimbatore even though your alloted college is elsewhere which can be changed.

Faculty :

For every course, there will be at least 3 staff in the college. Each of them is qualified to do scientific research and most of them are not so efficient in teaching. But self-studying and asking doubts to them is very effective. The staff are very much approachable and available 5 days a week.

Heard that studying under TNAU is better than this.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am from an agricultural background so I have chosen this course. There will be 130-140 students per batch. Theory classes will be an hour and practical classes will be two and half hours. Teaching is good. Exams will be conducted at the end of the semester. The pass mark being 60 is moderately difficult to attain pass mark.
