- There's a women's lounge in the middle of the main campus but there was no lounge for men until recently, which is in some corner of the campus.
- The computers in our department are pretty outdated, like almost a decade.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I didn't really choose this course for the curriculum, because as I mentioned, I joined here as the CUET results were too late. The professors let us ask them to teach certain parts practically like teaching us to use GIS softwares, which aren't in the curriculum as not everyone is interested in learning them & since the course is allied with Tourism. A couple of professors can update their way of teaching as they just send the notes right before the day of exam. The difficulty level of exam papers is fairly good, with exams held every other month apart from the semester exams, with timings varying between 2PM & 4:15PM (Self Financed Stream).
Placement Experience :
From the 6th Sem, students are eligible. Am not sure about the name of companies & offers as am in 4th sem. Am planning to do M.Sc. in Remote Sensing, after which I might pursue M.Tech, though that will be too far-fetched to say yet.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Not sure about fee increase policy, regularity & rate of hikes. My tuition is 66,000 (INR). Scholarships are mostly government provided.I once worked as Administrative assistant in the Student's Record Office, for which I got payed 10.8k for working 1.5 months.
Campus Life :
The annual event conducted is called Deepwoods, which is usually held in the 1st quarter. Our department has its own library which has all the books relevant to the course, & there's a library of the college called the Miller Library. We have a computer lab for our department with smart board & projectors as well. We have inter department sports competitions each year. There's the student run "College Union Society".
Admission :
Eligibility for my course "B.Sc. Geography Tourism & Travel Management" was around 50-60% in 12th. Application was to be submitted online on their official website, & if you get selected, you were sent an "Admission Card" through e-mail. Application fee was 150/- I believe & the admissions were going on during July. There were no entrance exams. The only aspect I didn't like was that the ID card were not given immediately with the reason that some documents were not submitted, which in my case was the 12th marksheet, but I did give my digilocker marksheet which is supposed to be accepted, as it's central government accredited.
Other Applied Colleges
Delhi University - [DU] | Bachelor of Arts [BA] {Hons.} (Geography)
The CUET results came late while seats in all the non-affiliated colleges were getting filled, so I had to take the safe route.
