Course Curriculum Overview :

Sister Nivedita University's Journalism and mass communication department provides practical hands-on experience and opportunities for internships which influenced my decision to choose the course. Additionally, the reputation of the institution and faculty expertise can also play a significant role. The course not only prepared me for the real-world applications, it also provide me the scope to work in field. In 2022's Kolkata Book fair I worked as a content creator, which helped me to gain confidence and experience.

Placement Experience :

Sister Nivedita University is popular for giving appropriate placements to the students. The placement cell of SNU is always active to give the students ample opportunities for placements. As a masters student I got my first internship in my 2nd semester. Usually students get placements in their final semester. Many reputated companies like Wipro, Amazon, Microsoft, TCS, Times of India, Deloitte, EY, Talking Lands visited the campus. 97 percent students get placements from the University

Sister Nivedita University's fees structure varies based on the course . Every course has its different structure that is why the fees structure differs. But Sister Nivedita University provides all kind of scholarship based on the merit. Students can avail various government scholarships also. Many reputated companies like Wipro, Amazon, Microsoft, TCS, Times of India, Deloitte, EY, Talking Lands have taken many students from this University. The placement cell of Sister Nivedita University is always active to give the students opportunities to shine in their future.

Campus Life :

Sister Nivedita University's Various departments like, Journalism and mass communication, Phychology, English, nursing are very vibrant. They always arrange some fest like Ed- tech fest, festival for holi, Annual Convocation programme etc. The library at SNU provides a wide range of books and journals, catering to diverse academic interests. The collection is regularly updated, and access to digital resources enhances research capabilities for students and faculty. Classrooms at SNU are equipped with modern facilities and technology, including audio-visual aids, studios, ensuring an interactive learning environment for students. The university emphasizes practical learning experiences, integrating technology into the curriculum. SNU offers a variety of sports and extracurricular activities, From traditional sports like cricket and football to niche activities like chess and badminton, there's something for everyone. In the campus there is a busket ball court.

Admission :

I have done Masters in journalism and mass communication from Sister Nivedita University. To take addmission I came directly in the campus, filled a form, submitted all the required documents, paid the fees and took admission in a single day. Each course has its own eligibility criteria, for doing masters in journalism and mass communication, students from any stream obtaining 55 percentage can apply. There is no additional fees for application. I have general caste, that is why, I did not get any reservation benefits.

What to expect before joining Amity University Kolkata

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose to study for a Master's in Journalism and Mass Communication from Amity University Kolkata. For Master's, the classes mostly had 30-35 students per batch. The course had a wide syllabus and starting from Radio to Journalism to advertising, public relations everything was taught. Each curriculum had a professor from that particular field teaching the curriculum.

Its a human organisation honestly flaws are inevitable, course structure as in these type of professional studies are not adequately revised to follow fast changing trends but prepare you with the basic and affordable.
