Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is a 8.5/10. Every subject is very necessary for real-world problems and helps in making an engineering industry ready. The faculty is very educated and experienced. I chose this course because of its placement record and the curriculum's ease. There are MSTs and ESTs in the form of written examinations and quizzes or lab evaluations depending on the subject.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
There is a fee hike every year. there are plenty of scholarships available like merit and means scholarships, alumni scholarships, etc. which can be availed by meeting the criteria. The complete cost for 4 years is 25 lakhs approx with around 2-2.3 lakhs for tution fees and the remaining fees for a hostel. The amount of scholarships varies for everyone.
Campus Life :
There are plenty of events that happen on the campus every year like Mudra nite which is held in October, Thapar food festival in September, the main event of Thapar Saturnalia held in the month of November, Izhaar-the inter-year cultural fest in February, URJA- The inter institute sports event. we have a very good library which is a multi-story building built in 2018. There is a wide range of books available in the library which cater to every kind of reader. There are a lot of clubs in this university to spend your evenings and learn something new.
Admission :
There was no entrance exam but the minimum eligibility criteria to be considered for counseling was 70 percent in boards for admission via boards and a minimum 80 percent for admission via JEE. The counselling rounds take place after document verification and the college lets us know the branch allotted. The cutoff for admission via JEE is very high.
