Course Curriculum Overview :
The curriculum was broad and covered all aspects of finance. I believe that Teaching methods of teachers could be approved in the government colleges of kolkata by providing real life assignments. The frequency and timing of exams depended upon schedules formed by the University of Calcutta, under whom all government colleges are affiliated. Difficulty of exams range between easy to moderate. There might be one or two difficult questions in every paper of every subject to familiarise students with challenges.
Placement Experience :
Not many companies came but placement drive is held every year. I believe the placement committe of the colleges can do better by inviting more companies with diverse job roles. If one doesn't get placed from campus they can apply from various job portals or broaden and increase their skill set by doing industry specific courses. Those students who have completed their graduation can opt for masters and can also pursue for further higher education if they want. Nowadays, the opportunities of earning and learning are endless.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
There are many state scholarships that students can avail. But those are given out solely on merit. Fee structure is very affordable so that students of all sections of our society do not miss out on their choice of education and learning. Campus placement is held every year but the package they offer is according to a fresher level. I feel all government colleges of kolkata can do better in campus placement.
Campus Life :
I had so much fun in my college days. One can participate in various activities during fests and fresher parties which are held during the summer months. There are a few clubs students can join like the dance club and literary clubs to broaden their extracurricular experience. Sports events are held every year for both men and women during the winters. My most favourite part of both my UG and PG colleges was the library. From academic books to novels you can find everything in there. Both the campuses are spacious and my PG college has a gym too.
Admission :
The admission process was offline. It was time consuming. There was no entrance exam held. Admissions were given based on merit in both UG and PG programs. Railway concessions were given to students who travelled by train to attend college.
