An underrated college....

Dislikes

  • The high number of student intake which is overwhelming.
  • The fee structure which can become more affordable.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Our core faculty is quite amazing surprisingly. Even in first year we have started building projects. Most of the teachers are friendly and have grasp over the subjects they are teaching. There is also a specific skill course which teaches us interview related stuff and teaches us logic based questions which I find quite interesting.

Internships Opportunities :

Even though I am just in my second semester I don't really have any internship experience but from whatever I have heard from my seniors I think it will be good and I will get to learn a lot and be able to gain a lot of experience.

Placement Experience :

Students are eligible for campus placements in the 4 year I think like all colleges. Because I am only in my 2nd Semester I have not visited any company yet . Our campus placements are 100 percent and the highest package was around 1 cr. I plan to give upsc after my examination.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The tuition fees in my knowledge is constant since quite a long time and I don't think they are going to increase it anytime soon. The fee structure is merit based so if a student gets a really good rank then they won't have to pay a lot fees fortunately. Indirectly, this acts as a scholarship/ financial aid. I have not taken any paid job roles in the campus yet and I am not sure if there are any at all.

Campus Life :

There are two big fests one technical and one cultural namely techovit and vibrance. Technovit is held around October and Vibrance is typically held in March. Our library is truly one of the best things about our college. It is 5 floored and contains thousands of books and journals and magazines covering all fields of life and has extremely aesthetic and comfortable well lit spaces for us to study as well. There are multiple sport opportunities in the campus as well and there are dedicated courts and fields for each sport like badminton, football, cricket etc. There are numerous social and technical groups in the campus like literary societies of Bengal, south, Maharashtra, Bihar, harayana and technical clubs like robotics, research etc.

Hostel Facilities :

There are both ac and non AC rooms, and the room size ranges from 2 bed, 4 bed and 6 bed. The mess is surprisingly good and they give good nutritious food but it certainly can't be compared with home meals. The registration process is done through the students portal. In my opinion considering the market rates the hostel and mess is neither too costly nor too cheap.

Admission :

The Eligibility is quite flexible. The application form, the application dates and the instructions about the application fees everything is on vit website. That is quite hassle free. The exam is quite easy in perspective of the questions. The real challenge is to manage time and to be able to complete as many questions as possible. The exam is conducted twice if I am not wrong. The admission process should be more filtered and complex and not many students should be allowed admission.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements start in the 7th semester. Due to the recession, there is a lot of backlash when it comes to placements. It has been quite poor for the last few years. But it depends on how the student is prepared for the competitive world.

Placement Experience:

Placement is good for the CSE and IT departments. You can't expect placement if you belong to other departments, there is a placement for the other departments but very less. Campus placement starts in 3rd year itself. They have special classes for Aptitude skills and interview preparation GD and necessary preparations for job placement opportunities. 90% of students from CSE and IT get placed. The average package is 7.5 LPA you can expect a minimum of 3.5 LPA. If you are willing to go for higher studies you can contact the international relation office they have good relations with other universities abroad, they have students exchange programs, research scholarships etc if you are not planning to seat in placement. I plan for higher studies and research after my Btech.

Placement Experience:

The placements in my college is very good and top companies hire students across every branch with a good amount of package. At the end of 3rd year every student is elegible for the placements in college. About 20 to 25 companies visited for campus hiring and approximately 700 offers were given across the college from every branch. 60 percentage of students got placed in the campus hiring program. Highest package is 24 LPA and the aveyis 5LPA. My plan is to get into a good MNC company which is related to Aerospace technology.
