Entrance Preview :
I took JEE out of nowhere, when I came to know that it's the only exam to get good colleges. I scored about 78 marks and 88% in 12th with a AIR about 1,14,000. I took a Chemical Engineer cause Chemistry was my one of the strong subjects from high school and also the faculty here was from IIT Madras, IIT Guwahati etc which I thought would be better for me.
Course Curriculum Overview :
you get a manual at the start for the respective year which includes TimeTable, Tutorial Tests, Syllabus for Mid and End SEM, Previous Year papers and this also includes the required and some additional books which is and can be used for curriculum and can be found and issued from library later. For research papers you can but not necessarily everyone take their minor and major project seriously to opt for research. But the good point is you can and teacher in my dept were helpful to those who wanted
Internships Opportunities :
I have some of my friends who got Internships easily from CS, IT but for my department as it is unique I did got a Internship but it was for experience not stipend. So I got little unlucky in that.
Placement Experience :
From 6-7 core companies for my dept many were got selected and some even rejected and are opting for govt service or further studies. 4 of my friends opt for marketing job in Byju and grabbed 10lacs per annum package. And those who chose core companies got packages upto 4(friends) x 6.20 lacs, 3 x 3.20 lacs , 2 x 2.20 lacs per annum. Companies like Trade India, Lupin, Bina Oil refinery, Byjus and Even Indian Navy came here for placements.
College Events :
Recently many Clubs and Event committee has been formed. There is respective Music Room for Music Club, Football, Cricket grounds for Sports club, separate rooms for Drama and literature clubs can be assigned by the respective head of the club. Cultural event is held once a year along with technical event for automobile, EE, IT etc. This year Meet Bros were invited for cultural event and the list will only go up high every consecutive year.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
From the perspective of common man Fee structure is feasible. It was about 60k for each year for a General category student. And various scholarships upto 32k for OBCs and SC, ST. Fee structure for other engineering disciplines may differ but will be under 80k per annum easily. Number of seats for different disciplines may differ for CS it is 120 for Chemical and Automobile, it is 60. Mainly Known core disciplines have 120+ seats and so the fees is on the high side to fill up the demand.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The only scholarships I know are provided to students are category wise. It also provides scholarships to students whose father died in war or mother is war-widow.OBC, SC, ST and other backwards caste can avail these scholarships easily which is in the range of 23-32000 Rs /-
Campus Life :
Gender ratio is about 10 boys per one girl in most of the departments.Debate club is responsible for all the related events. Sports club is responsible for all the sub events, our college football team is on par with top teams in state colleges and Basket ball team is runner-up in Intercollegiate events.
Alumni/Alumna :
Yes. Every year an Alumni meet is held for the respective alumni who want to come back once again to relive their college life for a day or two. And there you are responsible for arranging and managing the event along with respective department and can get career advice and any type of help they offer.
Exam Structure :
Exam were chill and hectic both. As they were less frequent that is once in a month but you got to have 2 mid semester on one day for 5 or 6 subjects that are 6 exams in 3 days and End SEM are pretty chilled out which is spaced out nicely between gaps. You got to give atleast 2 midsems out of 3 and best of two average scores of mid semester will be counted. So exams were pretty chilled out than mid sems.
Admission :
I remember, I was searching for colleges and went to some private colleges like Jaypee Guna to see how was it and wasn't content as it is very far from city so I finally decided to opt for one which is good enough and near to my locality. I could have get CS with the rank I had but since I went to lateral entry and I was more inclined towards Chemical so I chose Chemical Engg out of CS IT EE seats left in Lateral Entry.
Faculty :
In my department some of my teachers were graduated from IITs and some were PhD holders from IITs. They can be approached easily by just walking into Chemical department and reach to them for a queries or a little chit-chat about upcoming events regarding your dept.
