Getting into a top government engineering college was my dream and I was very happy when it became true.

Dislikes

Teachers are only interested in course studies.

Course Curriculum Overview :

This college comes in the 2nd position after Jadavpur University in the list of top government engineering colleges. Faculty here are very good and it is compulsory to maintain 75% attendance before each internal exam or else you will not be able to sit for the exam. Rules are very strict in this college. Teachers use PPT presentations and whiteboards to teach in class. Projectors are also there along with a green board. Labs are well maintained. The campus is very big and full of greenery. Hostels are present inside the campus. In every 2 months, there is one internal exam. Semester exams are in 4-5 months, before that lab exams and viva are done. There is no semester break after odd sems but had sem break after even sems.

Class Size : 35Course Fees : INR 3500000 per year

Placement Experience :

Placements are arranged by the students and are approved by the TNP cell head. It will be good for the placement if your CGPA is 8 or more. You need to focus on Aptitude and current affairs for placement process.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee structure is as per State Government rules that are guided by MAKUT University. It is around 3.5 Lakhs in 4 years excluding hostel fees. The hostel has a fixed amount of fees that is decided as per the food that is ordered and managed by the mess manager and an extra electricity bill is required to be paid that is decided by the college as er costing. College has a Training and Placement Cell but the opportunities are only approved by them, they never find an opportunity they only approve it. Opportunities are welcomed by the students only.

Campus Life :

The annual fest Especktro is held every year after the odd semester is over. It is organised for 4-5 days. Throughout the day, several activities and contests are held and at night bands are invited who make a stage performance. KGEC has its own library from where you can borrow books related to your subjects. Teachers are very helpful and supportive of studies. Curricular activities are organized by the Union there is no role of faculties in any other program except studies and exams.

Admission :

The entrance exam for KGEC is WBJEE. You need to fill out the form when you are in your 12th class or the HS passout can also be filled out. There are reserved seats for SC, ST, and OBC candidates, for general candidates, the ranking should be between 500. Counciling processes are carried out online initially. After the result declaration, it is required to log into the official website and arrange to select the required college names along with the streams one by one. After 2-3 days you will get to know which college is waiting for you Then you need to visit the nearby counseling center for document verification. They will give you further information.

Review of IEM Kolkata, a strict Engineering College.

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible for the placements after the sixth semester. The companies that generally visit us for placements are TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, Accenture, Wipro, Oracle, IBM and some other ones. The highest package offered through last years is 22 Lacs Per Annum and on average it is 4-5 LPA. 90% students on average get placed Every year. My plans after getting the Degree is to pursue Freelancing Full Time and Become a Web Designer.

Placement Experience:

Students from 5th semester onwards become eligible for campus placements TCS, Cognizant, Wipro, and Redhat are just a few examples of some service-based companies that offer placements to uem kolkata students. The highest package was 72 LPA and the average was 8.8 LPA. Almost 70-80% got placed. After getting the degree I want to be a javascript developer

Good Placements

Placement Experience:

We become eligible from the later part of the third year to sit for the placements as the companies arrive then. Mainly placements are dependent on service-based companies like TCS, CTS, Wipro e.t.c. who mass recruits a whole lot of students with standard 3.5 to 4 LPA packages. Product-based companies like Oracle, Amazon, and trilogy too visited the campus. Oracle recruited a few of the candidates, Amazon too but nobody could clear the trilogy's OA rounds. Oracle offered a package of 15lpa and Amazon around 22 LPA. But a lot of students applied off campus and the highest placement off campus was 72 LPA in Google. The placement percentage is nearly 100% which is mainly due to the fact of service-based companies. I too am interested in IT jobs so am preparing for the same.
