- Being very honest I hadn't expected this stressful life in my university. All that genx culture is really affecting students like me. And the university's contribution towards caring about out mental health is zero.
- The campus is crowded. The rules are too strict , they keep us in there like we are in some jail. n
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose CSE core , because I had always wanted to become a computer Science student and an inventor, I researched and thought taking this program would be a good choice and may be it could pave the way for my progress in my career. Faculty student ratio is about 1:60 Almost all the teachers are PhD in their respective feilds, teaching methods are quite questionable inspite all of them being PhDs, they have their respective ways of interacting with students, some are lineant , some don't care about your academics they just read out the slides, in short nobody cares if you get interested in the topic or not they're just doing their job. Mid terms and term ends were too early, a semester is meant to be for 6 months but they just packed the whole syllabus in 4 months mid terms in 2 months term ends in 4 months. So everything was very hectic.
Internships Opportunities :
I didn't have any internship opportunities, so I can't tell anything about it. I'm a fresher. All I can tell now is they are offering good internships at the end of your degree. Projects are also given according to the curriculum the university decides.
Placement Experience :
Semester 5 is when you start getting internship opportunities, i don't know much since I'm a fresher but this is what the placement office told us In the sem 7 you get to start applying for jobs and companies take interview and tests and hackathons etc. to shortlist students to hire. Highest package offered in 2023 was 60 LPA. About 80% students get placement incampus. My plans after getting a degree from here is to go for masters.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
There are 5 categories of fees here, Category 1-200000, Category 2-300000, Category 3- 400000, Category 4- 500000, Category 5- 600000 Students lie in these categories according to the rank they scored in VITEEE and the number of seats available in respective branches. Scholarship is not very specific but if you get under AIR 1000 in VITEEE, you will be getting fee waivers as you go up and up in rankings.
Campus Life :
In short, it's all like we're in primary school. The number of students in vit bhopal is the biggest problem we're all facing. The university is so crowded you can never be at peace. Sports is like it is being played by kids, so low energy. There is politics between malyalis and North Indians, malyalis and tamils are filled in the campus, even the faculties are partial towards the South Indians. Library is good actually but there isn't much space for many people to sit . The seating space is like only for 50-60 people and the number of students in total is around 13000. In the name of extra curricular activities students are charged for participating in every event, and believe me the events are all waste of money, you get to know nothing , students have created a mindset even that they take event passes just to get free attendance from their classes. Vitb_photography on Instagram is run by students of VIT bhopal .
Hostel Facilities :
Hostels are crowded too, you're fitted in a room of 2 with 4 people. The crowd is so much when there is non veg food, you get to stand in a queue for ,20-30 even 40 minutes to get the food. Meal quality is even bad, like you can't eat that food on a daily basis, even the canteen and the cafeteria doesn't have any good food at all, it's like it is all designed to suck money out of us and make us eat bad food. Registration for hostel is done through an online process, you have to opt for hostel facility then they will check your academic performance and if you're a fresher your VITEEE rank. And they allot rooms by themselves you don't get to choose at all.
Admission :
Eligibility- you need to have 75% in your 12th boards Application form - can be easily found on the internet, they put it every year the exam is called VITEEE RESERVATION - I didn't have any reservation so I can't tell much. Improvements - not much needed, but the college can make the selection criteria more awareable to students by telling us how they select students for different branches of VIT.
