- The classrooms are awesome. They are well air-conditioned, have a seating capacity of 150+ students, and are modernized.
- The Student Activity Centre is a fun place to spend time, it has carom boards/chess/board games that students can borrow by showing their ID. They also a student gym.
Dislikes
- The Student Canteen is really small for such a huge college, and there is only one.
- Hostel capacity is really low compared to the number of intakes every year.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose this course because of my interest in the technical side of things, how things work behind the scenes. The course curriculum is a little behind compared to other top colleges, but it's not ancient. The faculty:student ratio is about 1:30, which I feel is good enough. The faculty is well qualified to be teaching these courses. Almost all of them have PhD's from prestigious universities. The exams are conducted on a frequent basis, and are fairly tough to pass, but that doesn't affect our overall result as it is relative to how others perform on the same test.
Internships Opportunities :
Students are eligible for internship opportunities after their 4th semester. Students can also apply independently before that. Every year almost 25% of students are able to secure an internship on campus.
Placement Experience :
Students become placement eligible after their 6th semester. Overall placements are good. Around 200 companies visit the campus every year, and 85%+ students get placed. The highest package is not disclosed but estimations are it is well above 1Cr. I plan on taking up a job for 3-4 years after college before deciding on my future plans of whether to go for higher studies or start my own business.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee structure is very simple to understand and is affordable. This coupled with all the scholarships on offer by the college really helps the students. The hostel and mess cost is higher than expected but it is still within affordable range.
Campus Life :
The day life on campus is lively, as there are students everywhere, playing some or the other sport in the ground. Clubs are active and are really fun. They treat their members as a part of the family. The fests are also some of the best in Delhi, Resonance (the Tech fest), and Moksha(the cultural fest). Classrooms are no less than Ivy League colleges.
Admission :
Admissions to NSUT are based on an entrance exam called JEE(Joint Entrance Exam). This exam is conducted Nation-wide for all government-run engineering colleges. It is conducted twice in a year, the best of which is considered for your admission. The application process for admission is quite simple because it fetches our data from the JEE database, we just have to fill in our choice of courses and colleges in a preferential order. Because NSUT is a top college, the cutoffs for admission are very high.
