Remarks :
I think speaking broadly or thickly the managemental was good except a few areas . Like the result declaration was time consuming and very late.
Entrance Preview :
I took MSc entrance examination for a postgraduate course in Mathematics. I scored well in my entrance examination. I got rank 05 in the aforesaid examination. The reasons because of which I opted for this college are : 1. It had a good faculty in the department of mathematics. 2.it was in my home state. 3.it had nice infrastructure . 4.its national rank was exceptional
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum was good enough. We had a total of 4 semesters , 2 semesters a year. Electives semester 1: Real Analysis -1 Topology Algebra -1 Number theory -1 Linear algebra A danced calculus Semester 2: Real analysis -2 Number thoery-2 Discrete mathematics Operations research Complex analysis -1 Mathematical modelling Semester 3: ODE Complex analysis -2 Functional analysis Measure theory Graph theory Numerical analysis Semester 4: PDE Probability and statistics Differential geometry Algebra -2 Theory of polynomials Fourier series
Internships Opportunities :
Basically there is no internship for my course However at the phd level they provide stipend of Rs 5000 per month This is very low when compared with other institutions allover India. I think the university should increase it and provide the same at the PG level too.
Placement Experience :
The placement and job opportunities were not at par with other institutions or other universities all over I don't think that much of the good companies visited to the varsity. Ofcourse I saw a few companies visiting there but that was an indirect process or invitation I once remember that there ware a few companies who visited the varsity on the recommendations or invitation of TIFR I think the university is lagging behind in this area they need to come forward in this regard and do some outstanding things .
College Events :
Yeah we did celebrate the events out there in the middle at ku . Some of the events we celebrated were 1.we were given a warm freshers party Gheorghe party was attended by faculty members , and seniors as well. In fact they were the hosts and we the guests 2 when they left us we gave them a warm farewell party It was a nice gathering
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Its not expensive to study at ku as it is is a govt institute But still there was a fewer amount of money to be deposited annually The fee structure was like this For the first two semesters that for the first year it was around 7000 Forth 3rd and 4th semester that is for the last or final year it was less than 7000 But we had to submit the examination fee too which was around 1000 per semester and which totalled to 4000 to 50000 IN two years
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Yeah there was a student scholarship which was given from the student aid fund It was basically for the meritorious students. In fact 2 to 3 friends of mine were able to receive it
Campus Life :
Yeah the campus life was good enough as far as the student activism is concerned. There were regular anti ragging campaigns There were workshops on social equality There were regular debates over geopolitical situations There was no racial or social or even religious discombination which I think was the outcome of such debates and workshops
Hostel Facilities :
No every body could not get hostel facilities there . But fortunately I was able to get admission to ma hostel The hostel accommodation was good enough . I was feeling good there .in fact the food they served was good . I enjoyed the hostel life. It was not that much expensive. It was quite affordable .
Alumni/Alumna :
My experience with my seniors was nice .In fact I had good no. of friends from amongest the seniors. This I think was because of my problem solving techniques They used to visit me frequently with their problems and I used to solve them
Exam Structure :
Yeah it was hectic We were supposed to take regular class test. Sometimes daily and some times on alternative days Besides we had to attend the computer lab on regular basis. The semesters too were very short in duration. But overall it was a nice experience to be there at. I'm Indebted to the teachers there at
Admission :
Initially I was informed by my friends that there is going to be an entrance examination for a POSTGRADUATE course in Mathematics at university of kashmir. I then accessed it's website in the month of February 2014. I filled the examination form and took up the examination on 15th of March 2014. I qualified with the overall rank 05 in the examination. Our classes finally started from 15th of April 2014. We were a total of 70 students. This is how I was able to get admission for MSc in Mathematics at university of kashmir srinagar.
Faculty :
The faculty was good enough. We had 8 faculty members viz 1.Dr N A rather ( specialisation in complex analysis ) 2 Dr M H Golzar (Specialisation in complex analysis ) 3 Dr Bashir (Specialisation in complex zndlysis) 4 Dr Dawood (Specialisation in wavelet analysis ) 5 Dr Abdullah (Specialisation in complex analysis ) 6 Dr mukhtar (Specialisation in modelling) 7 Dr s pirzada (Specialisation in graph theory ) 8 Dr m a sofi (Specialisation in functional analysis )
