Course Curriculum Overview :
I opted for this course due to my deep interest in the corporate and management field. The faculty-to-student ratio is reasonable, with 2 faculties per 3 sections. Most of the professors are highly competent and employ engaging teaching methods, although a few may not align well with the course. The program entails consistent student assessment throughout the semester, including frequent quizzes, assignments, and projects, along with mid-term and end-of-semester examinations. While passing isn't a walk in the park, the course strikes a balance, not being overly challenging, ensuring that students' efforts yield meaningful results.
Internships Opportunities :
There are internships at the end of every year. at the end of the first year students are made to appear for the social internship (4 weeks) and then the corporate internship for the subsequent two years (6 weeks and 8 weeks resp). for the social internship, I was not very satisfied with the institution assigned to me by the college placement cell so I would recommend going for the private placement option for the social internship.
Placement Experience :
While our university doesn't offer campus placements for BBA students, the prospects improve significantly for MBA students. Campus placements for MBA typically commence around the end of the 9th semester. Renowned companies such as HDFC, ICICI, Axis Bank, and City Bank are known to participate in the recruitment drive. The highest package secured last year reached an impressive 30 LPA, while the average falls in the range of 12 to 18 LPA, highlighting the lucrative opportunities available. It's worth noting that the majority of MBA students secure placements through the campus recruitment process, making it a reliable avenue for launching their careers.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Being a private university, Nirma University does have a relatively high fee structure. However, the living expenses, including hostel and mess charges, are reasonable and can be comparable to renting a flat outside the campus. The fees may not be affordable for everyone, which is why the university conducts a scholarship test and offers scholarships based on test scores and family income. The total cost of education for a five-year program typically ranges from 20 to 30 lakhs, which might prompt some students to explore education loan options. Fortunately, the university has a dedicated bank where students can inquire about various financial aid opportunities and loan facilities to support their education.
Campus Life :
Campus life is a fun and vibrant college experience. The annual fests, Genesis (BBA) and Perspective Richer (MBA), are highlights where you get to witness artists like Zaeden and Ritviz right in front of you. There are a total of 8 institutes within the university, each organizing different fests and events that you can witness. Festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi and Navratri are celebrated with utmost joy. Moreover, the university has well-equipped libraries, with each Institute having its own library. Accessing the books you need is easy, thanks to the university's library portal, which allows you to check book availability and even recommend your needs. The classes are designed to ensure that students at the back have a good learning experience. They are equipped with projectors, and ac that are currently non-functional. The university offers a variety of grounds for conducting various sporting events. There are around 13 clubs and committees at the BBA level.
Admission :
To gain admission to the Institute of Management at Nirma University (IMNU), applicants must take the IPMAT exam and apply through the university's organized website. IMNU generally sets reasonable cutoffs for IPMAT scores. Application forms are available in May and June, with fees ranging from 500 to 1500 rupees. There are specific quotas for Gujarat board students and NRIs, in addition to standard reservation practices. The admission process is smooth and well-structured, requiring no major improvements.
